Those caught with any one of the verboten items could face prison time, according to an official memo.

“Importing drugs, alcohol, pornography, and religious books and material into Qatar is illegal,” reads the UK Foreign Travel Advice government website. The site goes on to list several cautions for visitors, such as refraining from public displays of intimacy and bringing sex toys into the country. Soccer fans traveling to the World Cup better get their kicks in beforehand!

It was too offensive.” Russia is no stranger to ads playing on sexist stereotypes—and women’s rights activists have been increasingly speaking out against them.

Russian Politician Warns Against Sex With Foreigners During World Cup

Tamara Pletnyova told women that they should abstain from sex with foreigners visiting the country for the tournament. The politician’s concerns come after the Argentine Football Association distributed a widely criticized booklet to World Cup sports reporters, which included a chapter called “How to stand a chance with a Russian girl.” But Pletnyova seemed more concerned with protecting women from becoming single parents. Meanwhile, companies involved in this year’s World Cup — including FIFA and Russian Railways — are having employees take classes to learn how to smile and make tourists feel more welcome.
