A new course at Temple University has students very excited. The professor said the student cap for her new porn studies course shot up from 25 to 40, with many more on the waitlist. The course, “Social Perspectives and Digital Pornography: The Other Sex Ed,” seeks to allow students to discuss sexuality, intimacy, power dynamics and the impacts of the porn industry in society.

“I hope my students leave recognizing how valuable it is to research and to study pornography across all disciplines and to figure out what we can learn,” she said. The course provides a place where students can discuss things that they “sometimes don’t even discuss with their closest friends,” including topics that have become controversial amid the current culture wars on sex and gender. While no porn made it on the curriculum, the students did watch TED Talks on the topic.”

University Of Leicester Launches Online Toolkit On Student Sex Workers

The University of Leicester wants to do more to support students who are sex workers. They’ve recently launched a student sex worker policy and toolkit to ensure staff don’t “give moral judgment.” The professor behind the initiative said on the BBC: “We’re talking about inclusive learning, we’re talking about not discriminating against somebody, not being judgemental if you find out your student’s doing sex work, or they’ve been outed or being blackmailed.”

The university will be launching its Student Sex Worker Policy and Toolkit, which has been created with the help of the Student Support Services and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion teams. “The policy and toolkit at Leicester will be used to showcase how these sensitive issues can be tackled with student well-being and inclusivity at the heart of policy and practice development,” the event website about the launch read. “The point is really that sex work is generally legal, it’s a legal activity between two consenting adults and universities are not there to give moral judgment in relation to what people do.”

This is why UC Davis has decided to make sexual wellness products like Plan B readily available to students—in a convenient vending machine on campus! The vending machine, called “Wellness to Go,” offers a wide array of health products for students, including condoms and Plan B.

The machine dispenses the emergency contraceptive for $30—a lower price than at local pharmacies—making it affordable and available for those who need it at any time. It’s thoughtfully located in a place with lots of people and traffic, so that women feel safe and comfortable taking care of their sexual health needs. Of course, many consider the emergency contraceptive being sold in a vending machine to be “controversial,” but proponents argue that it’s a “health equity issue, providing resources for women to manage their reproductive health in the best possible way.” They hope by increasing access, the vending machine will help decrease stigma about Plan B—and ultimately, prioritize women’s sexual health.

College Promo Video Uses Sexy Library Hook Up To Recruit Students

It seems the college went a little too literal with the “college fantasy” of getting it on in the library stacks. The hot hook up was featured front-and-center in the promotional video and, not surprisingly, students love it and teachers hate it!

The video shows attractive students in everyday college scenarios: solving math problems, playing football and, most stimulating of all, getting their sexual education on in the library. The university’s professors and librarians association has gotten involved, and in a comment to CBC News compared the ad to “selling beer.” The French translation of the voiceover notes: “You should come here because of the French language,” but “langue” also means “tongue” in French (french-kiss, ooh la la!). Obviously, students loved it: one guy told the CBC, “I thought that’s awesome. I really enjoyed it.”
