The politicians are said to have been part of an All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) visit to a dictatorship when the XXX circumstances arose. There is no suggestion the MPs knew the prostitutes would be there, or that they used their services—but the claim highlights the potential risks with complaints that some trips are blighted by “sex and heavy drinking.”

The Times reported that on another visit to an important ally of the UK an MP had to be rebuked for repeatedly propositioning young female interns. An investigation found that when hosted abroad by diplomats, some would stay on to “pursue their interest in local women,” adding that others routinely engaged in drunken and lewd misbehavior—much to the annoyance of local officials. “If a hostile state is lucky they may get photos and they will make sure they know exactly what has happened. And then they might get something from that,” a government source said.

UK Government Ditches ‘Porn Block’

img_5939The UK government has permanently shelved its controversial “porn block,” which would have enforced age verification on porn sites. In a statement, the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) confirmed that the government “will not be commencing part three of the Digital Economy Act (2017).” This act, which was dubbed the “porn block,” would have made the UK the first country in the world to introduce age verification laws for online porn.

The age checks would have required uploading a passport or driving license or purchasing a “porn pass” from a store to prove one’s age. After repeated stalling and rescheduling, the government has eventually ditched the plan entirely. The government has decided that its “objective of coherence will be best achieved through our wider online harms proposals and, as a consequence, will not be commencing Part 3 of the Digital Economy Act 2017 concerning age verification for online pornography.”

For years Parliament has routinely disclosed information on websites viewed from its network – revealing that up to 200,000 bids to surf X-rated sites have been blocked a year. The authorities have always argued that most of the efforts to view porn were inadvertent or down to so-called malware.

But now Parliament is claiming that it won’t reveal the information because it “may present a security risk if it were to remain publicly accessible.”  Previous sites have even been deleted from the Parliamentary transparency log. As a security expert says, “How is it a security risk to know that a bunch of (predominantly) middle-aged white guys prefer to browse for porn in the office rather than on their home PCs (where their wives might notice)?”

Over a week later, the same man allegedly robbed a convenience store, making off with a $125 Huawei Y3 phone and two sour gecko lollipops.

UK Government’s New Porn Age-Checker Can Be Sidestepped In Seconds

The move is intended to stop children from accessing X-rated material online—but the system can be sidestepped in seconds using a simple Google search and fake verification details. Porn sites will have to sign up to one of a series of age-checker services available online, which has sparked companies to jostle for contracts with site owners.

Websites that fail to implement age-verification technology face having payment services withdrawn or being blocked for UK users. However, after a quick google, a Guardian reporter was able to verify themselves as an adult on well-known site AgeChecked.com, who claimed the system works by requiring that people provide a form of ID, an age-verified telephone number, or a credit card, per the new government rules. AgeChecked.com responded to the Guardian with: “That’s quite interesting … That’s within the capabilities of someone relatively young. I think we’re going to swap that method out.”
