Terms like “nudes” and “dick pics” tweeted alongside “coronavirus” jumped up 384 percent on Twitter from the beginning of March to April, according to data.

The peach emoji saw a 46 percent spike, and they predicted the use of the peach and eggplant emojis will continue to rise. There’s also scientific research that one in five people (from a sample of around 1,200) reported a “new addition” to their sex life since the pandemic began. “New addition” means something they’ve never tried before—the most common are sexting and sending a nude photo.

The name Dick Pound and the hashtag #BisexualMenExist trended at the same time on Twitter, and users loved it. The BisexualMenExist hashtag is fairly self-explanatory: a user created it to highlight the discrimination bisexual men face. Dick Pound, however, is a bit more unlikely—here’s a tweet that explains it: “IOC member Dick Pound says Tokyo Olympic organizers have until late May to see if the virus is under control. If not, ‘you’re probably looking at a cancellation.'”

Users noticed that the two hashtags, Dick Pound and Bisexual Men Exist, were trending at the same time—and of course, jokes and memes ensued. “The trending is extra freaky today: you got Dick Pound, Bisexual Men exist and something called Fat Tuesday trending,” reads a tweet. Another user wrote, “This sounds dirty and nasty AF lol ‘Dick pound fat Tuesday hot pockets.'” The stars have aligned!

The governor of Utah stopped state distribution of free condoms due to sexual innuendos on the packaging. The state’s HIV prevention campaign intended on giving away 100,000 condoms—until they saw the racy and funny sex puns. The condoms had short slogans on them like “SL,UT,” “toss the jello salad,” “put your arch into it,” and “explore Utah’s caves.”

“The Governor understands the importance of the Utah Department of Health conducting a campaign to educate Utahns about HIV prevention,” the governor’s office said in a statement. “He does not, however, approve the use of sexual innuendo as part of a taxpayer-funded campaign.” Unsurprisingly, people on Twitter like the punny condoms. As one tweet said, “Okay unsurprising that Utah canceled this but these condom designs are great? every state should have a campaign about being ~regionally horny~” We couldn’t agree more!

Alaska may see the most use of the emoji, however, as fisting was found to be the state’s most popular fetish in a recent survey of Google trends search data.

She estimated that she and a small team she hired to respond to the requests have now sent 10,000 nude photos—although the demand has been so overwhelming that they’ve had to stop.
