Documentary ‘Me And My Penis’ Breaks Taboos On National TV

A new documentary aired in the UK aimed at tackling taboos around dicks is receiving praise from viewers and critics alike. “Me and My Penis” shows star artist Ajamu X as he takes nude portraits of men and talks to them—about their dicks. The program is the first time an erect penis has been shown on national TV in the UK.

While the documentary was considered controversial due to its explicit nature, a number of viewers shared positive opinions about it on social media. “It’s powerful, it’s moving and it’s about 20 years too late. Men’s bodies are NEVER spoken about/celebrated in this way. Definitely a very important documentary that all men should watch,” an audience member tweeted in support. An Executive Producer said: “It’s been exhilarating working with Ajamu and a brilliant cast of courageous and honest men, prepared to share their most formative and intimate experiences—so often not heard.”

Cuba’s First ‘Sex Shop’

imageA pop-up sex store in Cuba is pushing back against the Communist-run country’s ban on selling sex toys. The pop-up includes handcrafted dildos and other supposedly “taboo” sex toys. While Cubans pride themselves on being very sexually liberal, many are close-minded regarding sex toys, according to the sex toy pop-up’s artists.

The distribution of anything deemed obscene is banned in Cuba, and there are no sex shops or licenses available to sell sex toys, leaving Cubans with no other choice than to import toys in their suitcases and sell them in secret. For the pop-up, the artists created translucent “phallic sculptures” in an array of colors from pink to green, some containing wordplay on official Cuban slogans like “Until Victory, Always.” Scarce and expensive resources in Cuba meant they had to use entwined fish line for whips and resin for dildos. “We want to break the taboos,” said the artists. “In the rest of the world, this is normal now.”

A Shocking Number Of Americans Have Acted On A ‘Taboo’ Crush

Image Source: Flickr - 434picsA new survey conducted by sex toy retailer EdenFantasys asked 2,000 Americans about “taboo” crushes and found that 57 percent of Americans have secretly desired someone they absolutely shouldn’t have some time in their life. Not only that, but one in three Americans have actually acted on those feelings and had a “romantic encounter” with that off-limits person. The most off-limits person, according to the poll, is a friend’s partner (50 percent), with second place going to anybody in a relationship (46 percent.)

The study found that just because someone’s off-limits, it doesn’t mean we don’t pursue them anyway—in fact, one in ten Americans said they’ve actually had sex with a roommate, while another one in five said they’ve fucked someone in a relationship. “Forbidden fruit is the sweetest they say,” said EdenFantasys. According to the research, 59 percent of Americans who have had sex with someone off-limits say the sex is actually better.
