Study Finds Men Would Be Less Likely To Use Condoms If the Woman Is Hot

costumes-625440_640A new study shows another example of the dangerous things a man will do for the love of smoking hot woman. As The Washington Post explains, “When faced with the proposition of casually sleeping with a pretty woman, men are more eager to forgo condoms, according to a new scientific survey, than if they think their fling is less attractive.” So what is it about condomless sex with an attractive woman that excites men so much?

The study’s 51 participants ranged in age from 19 to 61, and all ranked pictures of women on a scale from 0 to 100. Invariably, the closer the men ranked a woman to 100, the more willing they were to have unprotected sex with her—even if they believed the woman might have a sexually transmitted disease. The study’s co-author believes that this could have to do with evolutionary reasons, where a man would want to reproduce with a more attractive woman because attractiveness is perceived as a sign of health. Or it could be about taking a risk to acquire the so-called “high status” associated with sleeping with a hot lady. Since the sample size was small, the researchers want to continue to look into this, especially with gay men.

‘Very Right Wing’ People Are Happiest With Their Sex Lives

LetsTalkSexA new European study found that people who describe themselves as “very right wing” are the most likely to be satisfied with their sex lives. The survey asked more than 19,000 people in the UK, Germany, France, Denmark and Sweden about their politics and their sex lives, and found in most countries sexual satisfaction increased the further right you went along the political spectrum. Not only that, but the five-country poll found that extreme right-wingers are also happiest overall!

“In the UK, people with left wing politics were least likely to describe their sex lives as satisfying (with 66% of people saying they were), versus 73% for those saying they were ‘very right wing,’” reports Buzzfeed. So, right-wingers are having the best sex and they’re happier—time to switch political teams? The head researcher says not so fast: “There are obviously numerous factors that might explain an individual’s sexual happiness and this study does not suggest that changing your political views would make you happier in bed (or on the stairs, on the kitchen floor, in the shower and on the backseat of the car).” The conservatives are always secretly the kinkiest….

Study Finds Only Half of British Women Can Identify the Pussy on a Diagram

A new study conducted for Gynecological Cancer Awareness Month in September asked British women to identify their lady parts on a diagram. The website encourages women to “take part in our quiz on the female anatomy and see if you can correctly label all the different parts of the female anatomy.” So, how’d they do? The results were pretty shocking.

Only half of the 1,000 women polled for the survey could correctly locate the pussy—just 56 percent. And less than a third could correctly label all six parts. Think it’s just Brits who are too busy drinking tea and eating biscuits to learn their own anatomy? A 2014 Yale University study found that US women are equally incompetent when it comes to knowing how their own bodies work. Interestingly, the British study also found that 70 percent of women could correctly identity the foreskin, penis and testes. Looks like both Brits and Americans need to bone up on their sexual education!

The Receiver Of Your Sexts May Be Sharing Them With Friends, Study Finds

10817159986_3b12084857_zIf you think that nude pic you sent is for the receiver’s eyes only, guess again. A new study out of Indiana University finds that a shocking number of people share your supposed “private” sexts with their friends. According to the study, 23 percent, or 1 in 4, of those who received naked pictures shared them with more than three friends.

Sexting, which happens mostly between couples in relationships as a way to flirt, thankfully often leads to positive outcomes (i.e., getting laid). But for others, as the study points out, “it may lead to negative outcomes such as lowered self-esteem or damage to reputation.” The study hopes to get more people to consider what happens when our privacy is violated because of sexting. Like the study’s author says, “As sexting becomes more common and normative, we’re seeing a contemporary struggle as men and women attempt to reconcile digital eroticism with real-world consequences.”

Church Funded Study Finds 76% Of Young Christians Watch Porn

15929936930_14a78eca47_mA new study funded by well-known evangelist Josh McDowell had Christians saying “OMG!” He commissioned the study to expose the “pervasiveness of pornography in the church and among Christians,” but the results went far beyond anything he could have imagined. According to McDowell “pornography has infiltrated the church, especially among young adults.” Apparently, McDowell is a bit slow to learn what basically everyone alive already knows—that young people love to masturbate!

“Of young adults 18-24 years old, 76 percent actively—and these are Christians—actively seek out porn,” McDowell lamented to a local news station. As a result of the study, McDowell is now putting together a conference for Christian leaders to discuss the problem of internet pornography. Maybe they should just look at the statistics—“Of 13- to 24-year-olds, 96 percent would say that when they talk to someone about porn—their friends, which most of them are Christians now—they do it in either a neutral, positive or encouraging way”—and face the facts: nothing’s going to “Save” people from jerking off!

The More You Masturbate, The Less Chance You’ll Have of Dying Prematurely

best_phone_sex_niteflirt_blowjobsWe have good news for the guys who enjoy regular self-love. According to a study published in the European Urology, guys who masturbate more often significantly reduce their chances of dying prematurely. The study followed 30,000 men over the course of 20 years, and found that men who regularly jerk off were generally healthier and had lower chances of being diagnosed with prostate cancer.

The study found that those who masturbate more when their young fare better later on in life. “Men who ejaculated at least 21 times a month in their 20s were 19% less likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer than men who ejaculated about seven times a month,” reports Gaystarnews. The study also discovered that men in their 40s who choke the chicken on a regular basis are 22% less likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer. Jennifer Rider, the leader of the study said: “Ejaculation frequency is, to some extent, a measure of overall health status in that men at the very low end of ejaculation – 0 to 3 times per month – were more likely to have other (medical problems) and die prematurely from causes other than prostate cancer.” So, guys, better get wanking!

Study Finds Middle-Aged People Have More Adventurous Sex

oldsexWorried that sex will never be as good as when you were young? Think again. A new study commissioned by the Trojan and the Sex Information and Education Council of Canada asked 2,400 Canadians, between 40 and 59, to reveal their sexual habits. And as it turns out, middle-age is prime time for exciting, satisfying sex!

“There is a public perception that as we age, sex becomes less important, less enjoyable and less frequent,” says Dr. Robin Milhausen, sexuality and relationship researcher. “The study findings indicate that most midlife Canadians are indeed leading satisfying and active sexual lives.” Nearly two-thirds of those surveyed said they had a pleasurable experience last time they had sex, which for a good majority of respondents is pretty often—at least once a week for two in five people. And not only is the sex good and frequent, but a whooping “63 percent said they felt more adventurous sexually than they did a decade ago, wanting to try new things for better satisfaction,” reports Huffington Post. Here’s to living long and (sexually) fulfilling lives!

Study Shows Watching Porn Promotes Safe Sex

condompinConsidering porn’s bad rap, especially Utah’s recent denouncement of it as an “epidemic,” many wouldn’t believe that adult entertainment actually promotes safe sex. But the porn industry just got a pretty unlikely endorsement—from science! A new study released by Columbia University shows that gay men who watch porn are actually sexually healthier than those who don’t.

The study surveyed 265 men who have sex with men, finding that those who watched porn were more likely to practice safe sex. “Among the 92 percent who reported watching condomless porn, nearly half admitted that the images had influenced them to have condomless sex. The men agreed that pornography depicting safe sex encouraged them to wear a condom as well,” reports the Daily Beast. What this means is that despite porn being labeled as “detrimental” and “dangerous,” it has the potential to help people to practice safe sex. So instead of denouncing porn, perhaps policy makers should be trying to positively influence behavior by making more sexually explicit images available. Thank you, science!

Here’s How Much Sex Happy Couples Have

just4pleasureEven though as a society we think that sex is the secret sauce to a lasting relationship, more sex isn’t always better for couples in a long term relationship. So what is the magical number that a couple should have sex to keep their relationship happy and healthy? A new study has the answer, and the number is probably less than you might think. As it turns out, sex once a week is the sweet spot for established couples.

The study looked at data from 25,510 Americans aged 18 to 89 and found that while having sex definitely means more satisfaction and well-being in a relationship, happiness maxes out at sex about once a week. “This showed a linear association between sex and happiness up to a frequency of once a week, but at higher frequencies there is no longer an association,” said a psychologist on the study. “Therefore it is not necessary, on average, for couples to aim to engage in sex as frequently as possible.” In another interesting finding, the study found that having sex once a week makes couples happier than if they had more money! The takeaway message is that having sex regularly is important for maintaining happiness in a relationship, but that it’s also okay for couples to have realistic expectations for their sex life.

Looking to increase your happiness and well-being? We’ve always got a day in our week for some secret sauce!
