Women Have Time For Sex But Not Always Orgasms

Women are less likely to pursue orgasms if they are under a time constraint or have a selfish partner, according to a Rutgers University-led study. “There are contextual, societal and personal factors that likely create barriers that prevent women from feeling able to actively pursue orgasm,” said a Rutgers social psychology doctoral student who advocates for “orgasm equality” on Instagram, where she has more than 21,000 followers. According to the study, published in the Journal of Sex Research, women use cues and adjust their pursuit of an orgasm in each sexual encounter.

In a series of experiments, researchers had heterosexual women imagine themselves in a sexual scenario and consider how much time they had or how selfish their partner seemed—afterward, the subjects reported their outcomes based on how strongly they would go after an orgasm and how likely they would be to have one. The study indicated women who pursue orgasm as a goal are more likely to reach climax. Researchers suggested that men should tell their female partners that they want their pleasure to be a priority, without putting pressure on their partners to orgasm.

‘Sexy Images’ Of Women Make Men Crave Red Meat, Study Says

A new study proves an old stereotype about what (straight) guys want: sex and red meat. Researchers behind “Is Meat Sexy?” claim that sexy images of women leave men hankering for a big slab of juicy meat. The study tracked more than 1,600 men and women in the US, UK and Australia to explore advertising’s impact on red meat consumption and how that relates to sex.

When experiencing “sexual motivation,” the men tended to act out in ways that “increase their desirability” as a sex partner, which includes using meat as a signaling status. As NY Post says, “few things say ‘I’m a powerful, hot-blooded man’ like a thick, juicy porterhouse steak.” This explains fast-food chains’ use of oversexed ads—like when Kim Kardashian was featured in a Carl’s Jr. ad, or when Kraft billed their frozen dinners as “Food You Want To Fork.”

Having Sex Right Away Could Lead To Better Relationships, Study Says

Image Source: Flickr - 434picsIt seems hooking up might be the key to fostering stronger relationships, according to a new study. “Sex may set the stage for deepening the emotional connection between strangers,” says the study’s lead author. “This holds true for both men and women. Sex motivates human beings to connect — regardless of gender.”

In four studies, participants were introduced to a stranger of the opposite sex. Researchers found that anonymous attraction triggered behaviors that promote emotional bonding. “Although sexual urges and emotional attachments are distinct feelings, evolutionary and social processes likely have rendered humans particularly prone to becoming romantically attached to partners to whom they are sexually attracted.” So there you go: go out there and get laid!
