The Scientific Reason Why Men Fall Asleep After Sex

Science has a reason why so many men fall asleep after getting it on. In both men and women, sexual stimulation has been proven to boost brain activity. When we have sex we tend to be relaxed and in turn, we release a lot of stress and anxiety that may have been building up throughout the day.

But when looking at why men seem to fall asleep faster, it’s actually due to a cocktail of chemicals released when they cum. It’s the release of prolactin that makes a particular difference as this is linked to the feeling of sexual satisfaction: “This suggests a strong link between prolactin and sleep, so it’s likely that the hormone’s release during orgasm causes men to feel sleepy,” experts explain. They add, “For unknown reasons, intercourse orgasms release four times more prolactin than masturbatory orgasms.”

New ‘Sexual Meditation’ Apps Bring Listeners To Climax, Then Sleep

A hot new “sexual meditation” app is designed to bring listeners to orgasm by inducing them into a state of extreme relaxation. Guided by Glow offers listeners a range of guided “erotic audio sessions” for $8.99 a month. The app has quickly attracted a legion of followers, and has even been endorsed by Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop.

Guided by Glow features a number of different sessions and storylines which usually begin with guided breathing exercises designed to relax the listener; then the narrator instructs the listener to start sensually touching themselves. Guided by Glow’s creator explained that she wrote her first guided meditation for her app after finding herself unsatisfied with online porn: “I haven’t had a lot of resonance with conventional porn, but I’ve always done yoga. I love to surrender and stop thinking and just flow,” she said. Sessions last between eight and 25 minutes, with listeners able to choose from male, female and non-binary voices to guide them through the erotic exercises.

You Can Actually Orgasm In Your Sleep

Image Source: Flickr.com | WillVisionA sleep orgasm can turn a good dream into a mind-blowing one. If you’ve never experienced the pleasure of a nocturnal orgasm, sexperts explain people of any gender are capable of having them. One says, “Although we experience the physical effects of having an orgasm in our body, orgasm is actually a process that happens in the brain. We don’t need any physical stimulation for it to happen.”

While men experience “wet dreams,” women don’t usually have physical “evidence” of a sleep orgasm—but that doesn’t they’re not happening. In fact, it’s estimated that 80% of men and 40% of women have had at least one sleep orgasm, according to The Kinsey Institute New Report on Sex. A scientist explains, “Since orgasm involves increased blood flow to your erectile tissue—and then the release of that blood flow—including your clitoral complex, the brain can recognize this and it can lead to sexual arousal and then, orgasm.”

People Who Sleep 8 Hours Have More Orgasmic Sex, Study Shows

white-1822497_640Here’s a really good reason to get a good night’s rest: those who sleep more each night have more orgasmic sex. On top of the numerous other health benefits of sleep, a study found that more shut-eye can lead to a greater increase in sexual desire and boost sex hormones such as testosterone. A sex researcher explains that sex and sleep are intimately tied, since not only can good sleep lead to better sex but good sex can also lead to better sleep.

“A good night’s sleep can increase interest in sex and a good sexual encounter can lead to a better sleep,” she explains. Her work is backed by a different study at the University of Michigan Medical School that found that women who slept longer had more sexual desire the following day. “For every hour longer the women slept, the odds of having sex with their partner increased by 14 percent. The same study found that more sleep also equated to better genital arousal,” reports Daily Mail. Time to hit the sheets!

Sex Before Bed Is The Secret For A Better Night’s Sleep, Says Study

white-1822497_640Forget about drinking warm milk before bed—according to a new study, the secret to getting a good night’s sleep is sex. Researchers found that two thirds of people slept better after having sex and achieving an orgasm. According to the study’s lead sleep researcher, people should “switch off their phones, and switch on their libidos.”

Researchers believe people might sleep better after getting off with a partner because sex is the perfect distraction before bed—not to mention the best relaxer. The findings from the study support an earlier study done by Oxford that found a combination of sex and a good night’s sleep had the biggest impact on well-being. As the study’s lead researcher said, “(t)here’s strong evidence to suggest substituting screen time for play time.”

Woman Can Only Cum While Sleeping

best_phone_sex_niteflirt_orgasmfaceA woman on TLC’s show “Strange Sex” claimed that she had never been able to achieve an orgasm with her husband—because she’s only ever been able to have one while sleeping! Though the woman claimed to enjoy sex with her husband, she said that she never actually was able to cum with him. While talking to a girlfriend about cumming, she realized that she did have orgasms—but only while asleep. Bizarrely, though she was able to cum during sleep, she did not orgasm during sex dreams.

The woman sought the help of a hypnotherapist to shift her orgasms from her sleeping state to her waking state. With time and a lot of work, she was able to achieve the Big O through sex. This lady’s problem definitely put a strange twist on an all too common problem for women. Maybe the show will inspire more women to see a hypnotherapist—or just to want to cum during sex!

Feel like having a satisfying ending yourself? We can give you the literal orgasm of your dreams right here!

According to Science, Sleep More and Watch More Porn For a Better Sex Life

best_phone_sex_niteflirt_positionsWe have good news for anyone who wants to be at the top of their sexual A-game but doesn’t want to make drastic changes to their routine. According to two new studies that looked at factors affecting those with sexual dysfunction problems, sleeping more and watching more porn might just be what the doctor ordered. For women, a little more time in between the sheets—sleeping, that is—could help them to want to get it on more; and for men, watching more porn could help to jump start their libidos.

One study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine found that for every extra hour a woman slept, she increased her chances of wanting to have sex by 14 percent. And for men, the study found that watching porn may increase “…desire and arousal in normal, real-life sexual situations with their partners.” So, despite the myth that porn desensitizes men and decreases their need for the real thing, the opposite may actually be true: “Viewing more sex films was associated with a stronger sex drive, including the desire to have sex with a partner, so sex films may be able to ‘stoke the fire,’” said one researcher. If anything these studies show that porn (and a good night’s rest!) can definitely have a place in a healthy sexual relationship.
