Remote Workers In Australia Are Taking Sex Breaks On The Clock, Research Reveals

More Aussies are working from home and, ahem, enjoying the benefits. According to new research, many workers are taking midday sex breaks during their shifts. Analysis from more than 1000 Australian homes discovered 20 percent of people are making the most of their time at home when away from their desks. 

One in three people aged between 34 and 44 admitted to clocking off at every opportunity to get it on with their significant other. Older millennials and younger generation X’s were described as two of the most sexually active groups. An Australian sex therapist explained, “(Some) people now may have a lot more time on their hands.” She added, “Sex reduces stress which may help you be able to focus more when getting back into work mode.”

Dr. Ruth Says 90-Year-Olds Should Still Have Sex

Renowned sex therapist, 93-year-old Dr. Ruth Westheimer, has advice for her peers: keeping having sex. But there’s a caveat—the sex has to be good. She says, “If they have a good partner, they should have sex. If you don’t have a partner, they should satisfy themselves. Period. There is no age limit.”

Dr. Ruth went into sex therapy many decades ago to help “strengthen family life.” She said growing up as a Jewish person, “sex was never a sin, but an obligation—for a husband to satisfy his wife—period.  I realized I did not know enough and I just wanted people to know about contraception and STDs.” Speaking of her own “good” marriage, she said her husband was very supportive of her career: “He went with me to NBC every Sunday night for 10 years when I did my ‘Sexually Speaking’ program,” she said.

The findings, which were drawn from the second “pleasure report” by the website OMGYES, come from a survey of more than 3,000 women, ages 18 to 93, from across the United States. The first technique is angling, used by 90% of respondents, which involves rotating, raising or lowering their pelvis and hips during penetrative vaginal sex to adjust a sex toy or dick to the right spot.

Another 84% of women use “shallowing,” or some kind of penetrative touch just inside of the entrance of the pussy. 76% increase their pleasure through “rocking,” where the base of a penis, or a sex toy, rubs against the clit during penetration by staying completely inside the pussy, rather than thrusting in and out. Lastly, roughly 70% said they use “pairing,” which is when a woman or her partner reaches down to stimulate the clit (with a finger or sex toy) during penetration. Taboo-Breaking Photo Series Celebrates Later-In-Life Sex

Even though older people have great sex, they are often excluded from sexual narratives. A new photography campaign is aiming to celebrate and dismantle the stigma of sex-after-a-certain-age. Five older couples were photographed by a world-renowned British photographer for the campaign, called Let’s Talk The Joy of Later Life Sex. By talking about sex and intimacy for people over the age of 60, the campaign aims to challenge the idea that older people can’t and wouldn’t want to have sex. 

Two thirds of polled over-65s say sex and intimacy for their age group is rarely or never represented in the media. “In reality, ‘sex and intimacy in later life’ means different things to different people: for some it’s about exploring new and different sexual experiences, and for others it’s simply about feeling able to express emotion through a gentle touch or kiss on the cheek,” a sex therapist involved in the campaign explained. They added that the campaign is trying to open up a societal conversation about the fact that sex and intimacy, in all its forms, “can be as important for older people as it is for anyone else.”
