Sex Work & Digital Safety

Written by: Behavior Analyst

Online privacy is a concern for everyone, from celebrities to the neighbor next door, and most notably, for sex workers of all categories.

One way to ensure your privacy is protected is not to click external links that might be given through chat or email, even if they appear to be trustworthy websites. It might seem harmless at first, but sometimes one click can ultimately expose your identity. The innocent, funny viral video link could potentially show the person who shared it your identification. Many popular, professional networking websites show users who have viewed their profile and several social media outlets are notorious for suggesting other members to befriend and follow, all of which could put your real-life personal accounts in jeopardy of being exposed. Even the most popular porn websites could present traceable information to the person who shared a video to view with them.

Additionally, please use caution when sharing any photos on adult websites that are also shared on personal social media apps. Those images can be cross-searched and uncover private profiles over to savvy, curious fans. When taking pictures with a cell phone, make sure the location tags are off, or scrub any metadata before using them on adult profiles to help safeguard your confidentiality.

These are just a few essential tips to take into account when considering your digital safety but they are certainly not all-inclusive. If someone asks you to read an article, view porn together, or laugh at the newest viral dance video, ask them for the title to look it up on your own, don’t click that link!

In the meantime, rest assured that NiteFlirt takes your privacy seriously and your safety is our utmost concern – so if you’re looking to let some of the stress of the real world go, we guarantee we have just the thing to help you relax.

Maitland Ward’s Husband Encouraged Her To Film Porn Scenes With Other Men

Maitland Ward’s husband championed her daring pivot to porn—and eventually encouraged her to film scenes with other men. After starring in shows like “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “Boy Meets World,” Ward began sharing racy material, posing in skimpy cosplay attire on social media and creating explicit content with women. “The girl stuff, I’ve had a lot of fun with girls. That wasn’t really a bother at all to [husband]. A lot of guys like that,” says the redheaded beauty, who was delightfully shocked when her spouse proposed the idea of performing with men.

“He saw that I had a lot of these fantasies.” In 2019, Ward made her adult feature film debut in “Drive”—directed by esteemed porn veteran Kayden Kross—which featured a host of male entertainers. “[My husband] really was the one that came and, out of the blue to me, he said, ‘I see this in you. You really need to try this. You really wanna live out these fantasies,’” she says of his XXX support.

Woman Goes Viral After Listing ‘Sex Worker’ On LinkedIn Profile

A profile on LinkedIn got the internet all hot and bothered recently. A woman listed “sex worker” along with her many credentials, quickly racking up nearly 10,000 reactions and more than 1,600 comments. “The biggest reason I could walk away is because sex work shows me what my power can do when I own it intentionally,” the LinkedIn post reads, explaining why she left her high-paying job to pursue sex work.

“Why is this different than any other client work?” she asked before answering her own question: “It isn’t.” She says she only works with clients that are “respectful, generous and grateful,” adding “they don’t have to understand it, but they better respect the hell out of it.” “I would hire a current or former sex worker in a heartbeat because they come with a litany of business minded skills that are a boon to any industry,” responded one individual who claimed he is a former sex worker.

Sex Workers Can Now Legally Solicit Johns On The Street In Victoria

A new law makes it legal for sex workers to operate on Victoria‘s streets. The change comes after lawmakers decided sex workers would feel safer and be able to access support more easily. Consumer Affairs Minister said the shift was “an important milestone for sex work decriminalisation in Victoria.”

Ingrid Stitt, Workplace Safety Minister in Victoria, explained that everyone deserves to feel safe at work: “With a dedicated Sex Work Safety Team within WorkSafe, we’ll make sure sex work is regulated appropriately, with the best guidance and procedures in place to keep workers safe.” International studies have shown that allowing sex workers to solicit sex “doesn’t increase sex work, it just makes it safer,” the Workplace Safety Minister said. “It just enables those sex workers to be able to report crimes against them and, given the nature of the work, they can often be vulnerable to that.”

Former Stripper Running For Congress Funds Campaign On OnlyFans

A former stripper running for congress has an unconventional approach for funding her campaign—OnlyFans. The former sex worker is currently running for Pennsylvania’s third congressional district as a Democratic candidate, and she has been very vocal about her past profession every step of the way in an attempt to end the stigma around it. Now, she has launched her own OnlyFans account to “make honest money.”

Unlike many of the other XXX accounts on the site, the politician’s page does not feature any illicit images or explicit content, but instead shares news of her campaign. The aspiring congresswoman decided to run after being fired from her job after her bosses discovered that she used to be a stripper—which inspired her to want to put an end to the “age-old stigma and bigotry” associated with the profession. “If you want to see the first stripper to hold federal office go to congress… please sign up to volunteer with our campaign,” she wrote in one video.

Dominatrix Claims DoorDash Banned Her Over Sex Work

A dominatrix thinks DoorDash deserves to be punished. She claims the food delivery giant arbitrarily discontinued her service because of her part-time gig as a dungeon domme. “Sex workers bend over backwards to conceal our identities in order to [be treated fairly by mainstream society],” she said.

For eight hours, three times a week, the Ph.D.-holder sexually dominates submissives. She’s purportedly done extensive research on the technological mistreatment of sex workers, claiming that cyber giants like Venmo, CashApp, PayPal, Airbnb and a slew of popular dating apps use location data and text-tracking hacks in order to pinpoint sex world staffers and ban them. She said, “When companies non-consensually out us [sex workers], and block us from enjoying basic human necessities, it feels really violating. There’s no justification.”

Notorious Nevada Brothel ‘Love Ranch’ Hits The Market At $1.2M

The infamous Love Ranch, a Nevada brothel where former NBA star and Khloe Kardashian’s then-husband Lamar Odom made headlines, is up for sale. Before becoming a famed brothel known for its “Viagra Parties,” it was a nudist ranch for 18 years. Its owner Dennis Hof bought the brothel in 2010 and ran it until his death in 2018, where he was found by porn star Ron Jeremy.

During Hof’s reign, the licensed brothel offered a number of services 24 hours a day, including 4-Play for Two, Oil Wrestling, Viagra and Vibrators, and the Girlfriend Experience. The ranch, located in the desert town of Crystal, comes with pink rooms and a half-naked statue of a woman wearing red lingerie in the front of the property. For a cool $1.2 million, the new owner will get all 75 acres and the Love Ranch with 15 one-bedroom suites, made famous by the HBO series Cathouse.

Victoria Decriminalizes Sex Work After Decades-Long Battle From Sex Workers

Canada is celebrating another major victory for the decriminalization of sex work. Victoria, BC has passed legislation to become the third jurisdiction in the nation to decriminalize sex work, ending a decades-long wait for advocates. The upper house finally voted in favor of a bill to repeal offenses and criminal penalties for consensual sex work between adults.

The Sex Work Decriminalisation Act 2021 will partially abolish street-based sex work offenses and associated public health offenses, and will also strengthen anti-discrimination protections, making it unlawful to deny sex workers accommodation. “The number one benefit for sex workers is we no longer will have to fear the police if something goes wrong at work,” the Sex Work Law Reform spokesperson told reporters. “This bill is for everyone who has been working under these draconian laws that have not protected us,” added Reason Party leader Fiona Patten, a former sex worker who led Victoria into decriminalizing the industry.

New Bill Hopes To Use Oregon As A Testing Ground For Decriminalizing Sex Work

Oregon has decriminalized recreational cannabis, drugs, and now, potentially, sex work. Sex Workers Project is seeking to decriminalize sex work in Oregon, in hopes it will become the first state to do so statewide. Recently, state Rep. Rob Nosse filed House Bill 3088 at the request of the Sex Workers Project, which would invalidate the state’s prostitution statutes, decriminalizing those engaged in selling sex, their customers, and third parties.

Nosse introduced his bill understanding it makes Oregon a test case: “We seem to do really well at passing these libertarianesque things,” he says. Oregon’s progressive atmosphere makes it a prime candidate to test out legal sex work: HB 3088 would implement what advocates call “full decriminalization,” removing penalties for selling sex, paying for it, and facilitating it as a third party. The Sex Workers Project is gearing up for an all-out public relations campaign, which it calls DecrimwORk, including state-level efforts around “decriminalizing, destigmatizing and decarcerating sex workers in the state.”

New York Senator Introduces Bill To Decriminalize Sex Work In The State

A new bill aimed at decriminalizing the act of selling sex in New York was introduced in the state Senate. New York Senator Liz Krueger recently introduced the Sex Trade Survivors Justice & Equality Act, which was created with the help of sex workers and advocates. The bill is based on the so-called “equality” or “Nordic” model, which would repeal the crime of selling sex.

“We must empower and support people currently or formerly in the sex trade,” Krueger said in a tweet about her support of the bill. The bill aims to give and get sex workers help, instead of jail sentences, in part by preventing the “unlicensed practice of a profession” arrests of people working in illicit massage parlors when there’s evidence of exploitation. “We want to make sure that instead of criminal penalties and jail, we are providing health care, mental health care, etc.,” she added.
