NYC Declares War On ‘Rim Jobs’

NYC’s Department of Health is bending over backwards to warn the public about a particular sex act — “rim jobs.” The city’s health agency issued graphic guidelines for safe sex practices during the coronavirus pandemic, and licking ass was high up on their list in the public safety alert. Yes, the city specifically called out rimming—or using the tongue on the anal rim of another person for sexual pleasure—as particularly dangerous.

“Rimming (mouth on anus) might spread COVID-19. Virus in feces may enter your mouth,” the city warned in the section titled, “Take care during sex.” Obviously, Twitter noticed the backdoor warning: “Stay at least six feet from other people, and be sure not to lick anyone’s anus,” one person wrote. “Day 13 of quarantine: my parents read the NYC coronavirus sex guidelines and are now discussing rimming at the dinner table. Need evacuation ASAP,” another person wrote.

Governor Bans Sex Puns On Free Condom Wrappers

condomsThe governor of Utah stopped state distribution of free condoms due to sexual innuendos on the packaging. The state’s HIV prevention campaign intended on giving away 100,000 condoms—until they saw the racy and funny sex puns. The condoms had short slogans on them like “SL,UT,” “toss the jello salad,” “put your arch into it,” and “explore Utah’s caves.”

“The Governor understands the importance of the Utah Department of Health conducting a campaign to educate Utahns about HIV prevention,” the governor’s office said in a statement. “He does not, however, approve the use of sexual innuendo as part of a taxpayer-funded campaign.” Unsurprisingly, people on Twitter like the punny condoms. As one tweet said, “Okay unsurprising that Utah canceled this but these condom designs are great? every state should have a campaign about being ~regionally horny~” We couldn’t agree more!

King Of Condoms Spreads The Love In Africa

https-%2f%2fblueprint-api-production-s3-amazonaws-com%2fuploads%2fcard%2fimage%2f117696%2fmain-image_zframwThere’s a new king in Africa: the King of Condoms! Stanley Ngara is preaching safe sex to African communities in hopes of combating the high HIV rate that affects 70 percent of the population. “Condoms were associated with prostitution,” Ngara explains. “You are told it’s very bad. There is a lot of stigma.”

Wearing a crown and red velvet king’s costume, the King of Condoms teaches people about “the need for safe sex.” He gives condoms to everyone he meets—young women, sex workers, men having sex with men—demonstrating how to use them with dildos and models of vaginas that he designed himself. “The community has really embraced the discussion,” he says, adding that he’s proud to have sexually empowered so many people. All hail, the King of Condoms!

Study Finds Men Would Be Less Likely To Use Condoms If the Woman Is Hot

costumes-625440_640A new study shows another example of the dangerous things a man will do for the love of smoking hot woman. As The Washington Post explains, “When faced with the proposition of casually sleeping with a pretty woman, men are more eager to forgo condoms, according to a new scientific survey, than if they think their fling is less attractive.” So what is it about condomless sex with an attractive woman that excites men so much?

The study’s 51 participants ranged in age from 19 to 61, and all ranked pictures of women on a scale from 0 to 100. Invariably, the closer the men ranked a woman to 100, the more willing they were to have unprotected sex with her—even if they believed the woman might have a sexually transmitted disease. The study’s co-author believes that this could have to do with evolutionary reasons, where a man would want to reproduce with a more attractive woman because attractiveness is perceived as a sign of health. Or it could be about taking a risk to acquire the so-called “high status” associated with sleeping with a hot lady. Since the sample size was small, the researchers want to continue to look into this, especially with gay men.

This Innovative New Condom Is Worth $1 Million

What might a new and improved, ridiculously long over-due condom upgrade be worth? According to Indiegogo backers, it’s $1 million. The Swedish sex toy company LELO is promising to use the money to make LELO Hex, a condom completely redesigned for both effectiveness and pleasure. “LELO Hex comes as a giant leap forward in the fight for great, safe sex—with a structurally different design, that means you can see and feel the difference,” the company says.

The condom, which has been in the works for seven years, is made of interlocking latex hexagons—one of the strongest, most durable shapes. Not surprisingly, LELO Hex’s backers have been mostly men—which makes sense, considering it’s being advertised to enhance male pleasure in particular. So, if you want a “powerfully robust,” completely re-engineered condom, a 36-pack of condoms ordered through the Indiegogo campaign will cost you $35. As LELO Hex says, “Feel the love.”

Start the School Year With 500 Free Condoms

College students are busy, busy, busy buying books in preparation for the upcoming semester. But you know what they really need to stock up on? You guessed it: condoms. The Great American Condom Campaign (GACC) knows this, so they’re giving away 500 condoms to each student who signs up for “SafeSite,” a safe-sex advocacy campaign that gets students to distribute free prophylactics at their school.

Trojan donates over 1 million latex sheaths to the program annually in hopes that the participating students “educate their peers about sexual health, and organize to improve the policies that affect young people’s health and lives.” The program’s aim is to combat what they consider the two main barriers to safe-sex that young people encounter: cost and stigma. “Too few students can get affordable condoms on their campus, and the social stigma and embarrassment young people are made to feel for being responsible about their sexual health is simply ridiculous,” says an advocate of the program. Eager students at 1,000 colleges—especially those in underserved institutions like community colleges and in areas where abstinence-only education dominates—are spreading condoms and the safe-sex message across campuses everywhere.

Study Shows Watching Porn Promotes Safe Sex

condompinConsidering porn’s bad rap, especially Utah’s recent denouncement of it as an “epidemic,” many wouldn’t believe that adult entertainment actually promotes safe sex. But the porn industry just got a pretty unlikely endorsement—from science! A new study released by Columbia University shows that gay men who watch porn are actually sexually healthier than those who don’t.

The study surveyed 265 men who have sex with men, finding that those who watched porn were more likely to practice safe sex. “Among the 92 percent who reported watching condomless porn, nearly half admitted that the images had influenced them to have condomless sex. The men agreed that pornography depicting safe sex encouraged them to wear a condom as well,” reports the Daily Beast. What this means is that despite porn being labeled as “detrimental” and “dangerous,” it has the potential to help people to practice safe sex. So instead of denouncing porn, perhaps policy makers should be trying to positively influence behavior by making more sexually explicit images available. Thank you, science!

Prom Dresses Made Out of Condoms Promote Safe Sex

Image Source: ADOLESCENT HEALTH PROJECTA clothing store in Omaha wants its customers to dress for succ-sex this prom season. At two local stores, prom dresses made entirely out of condoms are putting safe sex front and center of the party wear. Among the racks of regular dresses, prom-goers will find festive, fun condom dresses reminding them to keep it safe on their big night out.

There’s no price tag, only this important message: “Being safe is always in style. Avoid sexually transmitted diseases and unintended pregnancies.” The campaign is being launched by Adolescent Health Project and the Women’s Fund of Omaha in hopes of combating the city’s high STD rates. While it’s probably fair to assume not many people would want to wear a dress made of condoms to their prom, the colorful designs are still a great way to promote safe sex on what is famously the horniest night of the year for young people.

Provocative Safe Sex PSA Uses Glory Hole to Get its Message Across to Gay Men

1393951464_cc97cbcd30_zA racy new PSA advocating safe sex in South Africa features a glory hole to get its message across to gay men. The ad for We The Brave, a non-profit that promotes men’s sexual health, shows a man pulling down his jeans and thrusting his dick into a glory hole as the music from 2001: A Space Odyssey plays! The text reads “We’re brave enough to use glory holes,” before cutting to a condom unwrapping. “So we’re definitely brave enough to use condoms.”

The ad agency behind the provocative PSA said that they wanted to reach their target market by highlighting the bravery of gay men, “whether it is brave to come out to your parents, hold hands in public or suppress who you are because of cultural or religious beliefs,” a representative said. The glory hole appeals to gay men who are looking to fulfill their sexual desires while remaining anonymous, and the campaign seeks to spark conversation about how to educate this segment of the gay community about responsible safe sex practices. By glorifying the glory hole, the ad hopes to thrust safe sex into national discourse and public restrooms everywhere.

Meet the Woman Who’s Revolutionizing Condoms

condompinAfter Talia Frenkel worked as a photojournalist for the Red Cross and the United Nations, she decided she wanted to help with the devastating effects of AIDS, which is the top killer of adult women worldwide. So she started L, a condom company that, for every condom sold, donates another to a female entrepreneur in a developing country. “So far, we’re partnered with more than 2,800 women in Swaziland and Uganda. They educate their peers about why this product is important and generate an income—everyone benefits,” says Frenkel.

Not only that, but she also created a condom that doesn’t irritate the skin or have that nasty rubber smell ubiquitous to condoms. And the packaging is different from your usual, drug-store condom—instead of a masculine image targeting guys, “which is out of touch with the modern view of sexuality,” L’s box is more gender-neutral. So far, students in a blind study have really responded to the new condom. Who knew safe sex could be so enjoyable and globally beneficial?
