Women Who Fuck Less Frequently At Risk For Early Menopause

Having sex less frequently is linked to earlier menopause, according to a new study. Researchers analyzed data from a 10-year national study of almost 3,000 women, finding that women who engaged in sexual activity every week were 28 percent less likely to have experienced menopause than those having sex less than once a month. “Similarly, those who had sex monthly were 19% less likely to have attained menopause—defined as 12 months without a period—than those who had sex less than once a month,” reports CNN.

The researchers defined sexual activity as including masturbation, so the generalized menopause link applies to solo sex as well as partnered sex; and the definition of partnered sex was broad enough to include “sexual touching or caressing.” Although the study simply found a correlation between less sex and earlier menopause, researchers speculate from the results that the body might take hints from frequent sex that there is a possibility of reproducing. On the other hand, if you’re not having sex “you’re not going to reproduce, there’s no point ovulating—you’re better off using that energy elsewhere,” explains the lead author.

New Genetic Links To Same-Sex Behavior Found In Huge Study

The largest study of its kind found new evidence that genes contribute to same-sex sexual behavior. The genome-wide research on DNA from nearly half a million US and UK adults identified five genetic variants not previously linked with gay or lesbian sexuality. The variants were more common in people who reported having had a same-sex sexual partner, including people whose partners were exclusively of the same sex and those who mostly reported heterosexual behavior.

The researchers said thousands more genetic variants likely are involved and interact with factors that aren’t inherited—but that none of them cause same-sex behavior or can predict whether someone will be gay. The study’s authors say the research “provides the clearest glimpse yet into the genetic underpinnings of same-sex sexual behavior.” They add, “We also found that it’s effectively impossible to predict an individual’s sexual behavior from their genome. Genetics is less than half of this story for sexual behavior but it’s still a very important contributing factor.”

Women Have Just As Many Sex Dreams As Men, Study Finds

just4pleasureIt seems wet dreams are not just for men. According to new research in the journal Psychology & Sexuality, women are having as many erotic dreams as men. The report looked at women aged 16 to 30 and found that they are having three times as many sex dreams as they did 50 years ago.

Similar studies conducted in 1966 and 1998 showed just under 4% of women reported sexual dreaming, but researchers say women are more likely to remember their dirty dreams now simply because there’s less shame in it. The study polled 2,907 participants aged 16 to 92 on their dreams, and found that, for both men and women, an average of 18% of all dreams were sexual. “One might speculate that younger women in modern society deal with sexuality more openly than older women of previous generations,” the researchers say.

This Is How Long It Takes The Average Woman To Orgasm During Sex

best_phone_sex_niteflirt_cunnilingus2In a groundbreaking study, scientists measured women’s “orgasmic latency,” or the amount of time it takes them to cum between arousal and climax. A total of 645 straight women from 21 countries took part, and the average time to reach orgasm was 13 minutes and 25 seconds. Researchers asked women to start a stopwatch when they became sexually aroused, and stop it again when they climaxed.

They defined the moment of becoming aroused as “an intense desire for sex in the presence of erotic stimuli, which were provided by the partner, audiovisual methods or both.” Around one in six of those who took part said they never climaxed during intercourse; for the rest, the time it took ranged from 5 minutes 42 seconds to just over 21 minutes. Almost nine in ten of those who took part in the research reported longer-lasting sensations when they were positioned on top.

Why You Feel Horny When You’re Sick

white-1822497_640If you’ve ever felt horny while lying around sick in bed, you’re not alone. Research suggests that being aroused while you have a cold is a real thing – and it might serve a purpose. Scientists hypothesize that sexual feelings and sickness might be the body’s way of giving you the boost you need to get over a cold.

That’s because cumming – like any other stimulation – revs up the central nervous system. “In particular, it stimulates the sympathetic nervous system, the same part of our brain-body communication that decongestants activate in order to constrict blood vessels and tissues which, in turn, helps to alleviate congestion and let air flow more freely,” reports Daily Mail. Sweaty sheets, hot skin, tired from head to toe—sex or sick day, or both?

The More Porn You Watch, The More Likely You Are To Be Bisexual: Study

threesome-sex-positions_1447521164Watching porn might make you bisexual, according to a study released by online porn site xHamster. The survey of 11,000 users found that the more porn you watch, the likelier you are to swing both ways. The study reveals that 22.36 percent of US porn users are bisexual, while only 4.05 percent categorize themselves as gay or lesbian, and 67.77 percent are heterosexual.

Researchers at xHamster found that 13.09 percent of people who watch porn once a week are bisexual, while watching once a day would land you in the 23.01 percent group of bisexuals. And if you log on for XXX action several times a day, you may count yourself among the 27.46 percent of xHamster’s frequent viewers who are bisexual. “We can only provide correlation, not prove causation, but it would seem that watching porn more frequently helps show users what sexuality can be,” says xHamster. “The more porn you watch, the more you may think, ‘Hey, that’s actually somewhat of a turn-on. Maybe I’m not as totally straight, or gay, as I thought.’”

Sex Boosts Memory, New Study Finds

best_phone_sex_niteflirt_sex9Here’s another reason to have more sex: it boosts memory, according to new research. Researchers analyzed two years of data on more than 6,000 adults aged 50 and over, and overwhelmingly found that those who have more sex were better at recalling recent events. “The researchers said this study, and previous studies in mice, suggest sex boosts memory by stimulating the growth of neurons in the hippocampus, a part of the brain that is activated when episodic and spatial memory tasks are performed,” reports Daily Mail.

The research establishing that sex enhances memory was first performed on mice, but this study is the first time it’s been confirmed with humans. Participants completed a memory test and a questionnaire where they reported how often they had sex, kissed, or sexually touched a partner. As with mice, humans who fucked on a regular basis fared much better when it came to recalling episodic memories.

These Are The Most Common Sexual Fantasies

PinkPussyPaige02You might be surprised how common certain fantasies and fetishes are. A new survey of 400 people from a mobile dating app discovered that a lot of us have the same desires. The survey asked 241 women and 159 men about their sexual fantasies and found that the most common fantasy is having sex with multiple people at the same time, which 17.6% reported thinking about during masturbation.

Other popular sexual fantasies include role play, BDSM, and having an affair. Surprisingly, only 3% of respondents said they get turned on by the idea of public sex. “The big take-away from this data is that we are all more alike than we may think,” a researcher told Refinery29. “There’s safety in numbers, and if our survey can help people feel more comfortable in the knowledge that others share their thoughts on threesomes and role play, for example, perhaps it can lead to more fulfilling sex lives for all.”

Preferring Porn Over Real Sex Is Now a Sexual Orientation

best_phone_sex_niteflirt_phonesexMedical Daily now has a term to describe those who prefer porn over sex: Pornosexual. Pornsexuality “differs from other sexual orientations because it’s a learned behavior that is void of human-to-human attachment bonding and connection.” Health professionals say that it’s a result of overstimulation in the brain from excessive porn watching, which provides instant gratification and stress relief.

According to research published in JAMA Psychiatry, researchers found that watching porn leads to dopamine levels rising significantly, which is why it can lead to addiction. Porn addicts crave this feeling, and begin to conflate sexual pleasure with porn. Therapists say the key to a healthy relationship with porn is for viewers to still use their imagination to create their own fantasies, ensuring they don’t become reliant and are able to build happy and healthy relationships with other people.

Sexperts Recommend Sexually Fantasizing To Keep Your Relationship’s Spark Alive

frustrated coupleSex toy company Lovehoney recently surveyed 4,500 people about their sexual fantasies, and the findings are giving sexperts important insights about what keeps a relationship staying lusty. It seems a surprising number of men and women fantasize about having sex with an ex-partner, which according to professionals, is actually very healthy. “Fantasies allow monogamous couples to get all the pleasure of ‘new’ sex without the pain of broken hearts and relationship,” an expert said.

Sexperts are also saying that planning fun activities and acting on sexual urges no matter how preoccupied you might be are the ingredients to maintaining a satisfying sex life long-term. “Lust is primitive, wild and edgy. We need risk and a hint of danger to continue to see our partners as sexual beings,” one expert said. The most important thing is just to make time for regular sex—whether it’s a quickie or a long, luxurious fuck-fest, be sure to get it on with your partner!
