Narcissistic Men Are More Prone To Premature Ejaculation, Study Finds

Narcissistic men are more prone to premature ejaculation and trouble orgasming, a new study found. The study found that “narcissistic men are strongly self-pleasure driven, deriving sexual satisfaction more from orgasm than relational interactions.” These men have a higher sexualization overall but are also more prone to rapid ejaculation and difficulty reaching ejaculation, according to the findings.

Narcissistic men are also more likely to have a sexual partner, have sex and masturbate, a greater interest in sex, lower sexual satisfaction and lower overall relationship satisfaction. Being very into themselves, they are also more likely to prefer masturbation over partnered sex. “Our research reiterates the negative impact that narcissism has on relationship satisfaction, but adds new perspective on how this personality characteristic may also affect a man’s sexual response during partnered sex,” the study says.

Electric Shock To Penis May Cure Premature Ejaculation, Study Finds

There might be a “shocking” new cure for blowing your load too soon. Researchers were able to help one man last roughly seven times longer in bed after undergoing electric-current therapy. A recent study published in the Asian Journal of Urology reported how Beirut-based medics ran an electrical current through a man’s penis to stimulate his dorsal penile nerve, one of the nerves that gathers movement and sensation information from the penis.

The unidentified man—who was only able to last for 40 seconds during sex—was treated with the zapping therapy by sticking electrodes to his penis for 30 minutes of continuous current three times a week. Fifteen months after the treatments began, the man recorded an average of 4.9 minutes for his sexual performance. Although the electric-shock process “is not fully understood,” the therapy’s success has doctors calling for more studies to be conducted.

Pelvic Floor Exercises Could Stop Premature Ejaculation, Study Says

inflatable-tubeNew research suggests that pelvic floor exercises could help around three-quarters of men battling with common sexual issues like premature ejaculation. Experts say strengthening the muscles around the bladder and penis could boost men’s performance in the bedroom. In the first study of its kind, researchers analyzed data from 650 men who used pelvic floor exercises, and the results were impressive.

They found 47 percent of patients with impotence issues found the exercises had worked. While a huge 83 percent of men admitted it had helped them with premature ejaculation. Traditional treatments for erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation revolve around lifestyle changes and drugs, such as Viagra. While further trials are needed to confirm whether pelvic floor exercises are an effective treatment for both conditions, researchers say the study is promising.

How Long Sex Lasts Versus How Long (We Think) We Want it to Last

best_phone_sex_niteflirt_havingsexIn pop culture, getting it on “all night long” and “till the break of dawn” seems to be the gold standard that makes sex great. So it makes sense that there’s a disconnect between how long sex lasts and how long people think they’d like it to last. But does longer sex mean better sex? Maureen O’Connor reported in New York that 75 percent of men prematurely ejaculated within only two minutes in 1948, whereas men now usually last on average between 5.7 and 7.5 minutes. Even though sex lasts much longer now, 80 percent of participants in a survey said they wanted sex to last 30 minutes or longer—at least twice as long!

O’Connor reports that “According to…sex therapists, sex is ‘too short’ when it lasts one to two minutes. ‘Adequate’ is three to seven minutes, and ‘desirable’ is seven to 13. The range for ‘too long’ went up to 30 minutes.” So why is that most people say that they want sex to be double what it is when “too long” can often be, well, too long? Despite porn’s and pop culture’s influence on what we think of as good sex, duration is not the most important factor. Good sex is really more about all the things that make it good—how hot it is, a partner’s responsiveness, how good you cum, etc.
