Millennials Most Searched For Categories on Pornhub

You can find out a lot about a generation just through looking at their porn preferences. That’s why Pornhub recently decided to sneak a peak at what types of porn Millennials are getting into these days. Since Millennials make up around 60 percent of Pornhub’s users, they rounded up the data to find out more about what, exactly, is getting youngsters off. So what’s the most searched for categories among the 18-34 demographic?

Not surprisingly, lesbian, teen, stepmom, MILF, squirt ranked the highest. And the next top five terms were mom, step sister, Japanese, threesome, massage. Other interesting data: Millennials watch the most porn on Mondays between 11pm and midnight, and they usually watch it on their phones. Millennials are also more likely to use porn categories than older users, such as cosplay, hentai, pov, anime, and emo (so angsty!). So what have we learned? Mainly that Millennials are down for some hot girl-on-girl action with a mom or a teenage stepsister, or both at the same time, preferably in anime!

The one-minute porn shows a couple fucking in a popular Chinese department store—and it’s since been viewed by millions of people. Although the censors are denouncing the sex tape as a “vulgar video [that] spread like a virus online and clashed with socialist core values,” the public’s reaction proves that many Chinese feel excitement at seeing the porn, not disgust. Since the incident, there have been commemorative t-shirts of the stunt, jokes on social media, and legions of people taking selfies outside the department store where the porn was shot. Even while the government continues to censor the internet against anything it finds “vulgar” or objectionable, Chinese citizens are finding ways to spread freedom of expression—and celebrate a love of porn!

The Museum of Sex’s 150-Year-Old Porn Exhibit

lifeofpeiWhile we may think that the popularity of porn is a recent phenomenon (thanks to the internet), the Museum of Sex’s exhibit, “Hardcore: A Century and a Half of Obscene Imagery,” proves hardcore sexual images have been around for a long, long time. The exhibit shows that erotic literature, dating back to the 1500s, was just as—if not more—hardcore as anything we have today. The 16th century writer Pietro Aretino, who is known as the “father of pornography,” wrote about gay sex, orgies, masturbation, and all in plain talk. In fact, such pornographic books sparked our country’s first obscenity trial.

The museum has vintage brothel catalogues that were sold on street corners to advertise a sex den, and a sheep intestine condom as thick as a bicycle tire! There are also Victorian era graphic images of cum shots and of women using homemade sex toys—on themselves and on other women—that they would fashion out of things from around the house (broomsticks, candlesticks, and bottles). California Now Requires Porn Stars To Wear Goggles During Shoots

gogglespicCalifornia’s Division of Occupational Safety and Health has recently taken even more extreme measures to shut down the porn industry. It’s well known that California no longer wants the adult entertainment industry to operate there, so the state has been finding ways to force porn makers out with increasingly oppressive rules and regulations. There’s now a 21-page document of safety standards outlining in graphic detail the mandatory “safety precautions” each adult film actor must take when performing various sex acts—including wearing safety goggles!

Under the category “Personal Protective Equipment,” porn actors are required to wear and/or be provided with “condoms, gloves for cleaning, and, if contact of the eyes with OPIM-STI [pre-ejaculate, ejaculate, semen, vaginal secretions, fecal matter and rectal secretions, etc.] is reasonably anticipated, eye protection.” After this latest low blow, porn producers aren’t the only ones calling foul on California’s openly hostile regulations on the porn industry. Diane Duke, the CEO of the Canoga Park-based Free Speech Coalition, said in the LA Daily News that “These are regulations designed for medical settings, and are unworkable on an adult film set — or even a Hollywood film set.” She’s advocating for those in the adult film industry to have more input in creating these so-called safety standards “in ways that protect adult film performers without stigmatizing and shutting down an entire industry.”

And for men, the study found that watching porn may increase “…desire and arousal in normal, real-life sexual situations with their partners.” So, despite the myth that porn desensitizes men and decreases their need for the real thing, the opposite may actually be true: “Viewing more sex films was associated with a stronger sex drive, including the desire to have sex with a partner, so sex films may be able to ‘stoke the fire,’” said one researcher. If anything these studies show that porn (and a good night’s rest!) can definitely have a place in a healthy sexual relationship.
