I honestly don’t look very far in the future when it comes to relationships. I honestly think that the way we view marriage in the USA can be somewhat toxic. People seem to think that a marriage is some sort of ownership agreement where they now possess their partner. I believe that we are all individuals first and if you somehow find someone that you can come together with, that’s amazing. I don’t see marriage as two people coming together to form a whole and I think that concept has been the undoing of many marriages. I would never judge myself, of my life, as a success or failure based on whether or not I wed a partner eventually.

As I said above, I just don’t think about it much. I try as hard as possible to simply live in the moment. If I do wind up with someone forever, that’s wonderful. If I don’t, that will be ok as well. I just don’t think about it.

I think they are incredibly difficult to make work. In theory the idea is romantic and I think it can supply the parties with the freedom that I think is so crucial for a relationship to truly thrive and blossom. In actuality though, I think that they just don’t seem to work out very often. Too much jealousy and too many insecurities just seem to be too large of a hurdle. For it to work I believe both parties would have to be mature to a level that most adults just simply aren’t. It’s a great theory though!
