Democratic State Rep In Oregon Sues Massage Parlor For Come-On

A candidate for the Oregon House of Representatives sued a massage parlor for nearly half-a-million dollars after he said its owner tried to have sex with him during a massage. Anthony Medina, a Democratic candidate for the Oregon House, said he was left with “emotional injury and mental anguish, trauma, an inability to form close relationships, nightmares” in a lawsuit against the Woodburn Spa in Woodburn, Oregon. Medina is asking for $450,000 in damages and that the spa and two other parlors owned by the man be shut down.

He also asked that the man be barred from running massage parlors. Medina claimed that during a visit to the Woodburn Spa, the owner pulled his underwear off and began to fondle him. Medina is the second public official to report the Woodburn Spa for inappropriate sexual behavior: “They’re operating with impunity,” said Medina’s attorney, adding “My client’s desire is to shut down these businesses.”

Oregon GOP Candidate Admits He And Wife Belonged To Swingers Group

A top candidate in the Republican primary for Oregon governor has admitted that he and his wife were swingers. Stan Pulliam confessed that he and his wife of 12 years, MacKensey, had “explored relationships, mutual relationships with other couples, for a brief period of time before ultimately deciding that it wasn’t for us.” Pulliam fessed up after a 2016 screenshot from a page titled “Swinger Facebook Group PDX” made its rounds across the state’s political circles.

“Hi Everyone! MacKensey and I are excited to be added to your little community. Some of you we have already had the pleasure to meet and we look forward to getting to know the rest of you!” he wrote in the group, which had 536 members at the time. “I think people can relate from all different parts of the state who have been involved in marriages,” he said in an interview. “The decisions that we made were for MacKensey and I to make in the privacy of our own homes. We’re certainly not asking anybody to participate or practice or do any of the things that we have decided to do in the past,” he added.

Oregon Makes Moves To Decriminalize Prostitution In The State

Oregon’s House Judiciary Committee held an informational hearing on a bill that would decriminalize prostitution in the state. House Bill 3088 would repeal the laws of prostitution, promoting prostitution, and commercial sexual solicitation. Proponents of the bill argue “the evidence is really clear that arresting sex workers or their clients does not help.”

An Oregon sex worker echoed the sentiment: “Please do not arrest our clients as a method for supposedly reducing harm. It does not respect consent.” According to the Sex Workers Project, the push for the ballot remains “very strong and clear.” The nonprofit said, “When voters hear the reasoning for protecting sex workers’ rights and autonomy, as well as (about) wasting unnecessarily public resources, our polling shows support reaching 68%.”

Portland’s Oldest Strip Club Goes Virtual

Even as Portland, Oregon saw rapid changes over the decades, one thing remained constant: Mary’s Club, Portland’s oldest and most famous strip club. Now, performers at the nearly 70-year-old institution are keeping the show going—virtually. “Every Sunday, via Mary’s Instagram account or by email, viewers can purchase access to the show, which typically features a rotating cast of seven who all broadcast from their homes, and a couple of the bartenders even exchange banter in a chat room,” Willamette Week reports.

Since not every dancer has a pole in her living room, performers have gotten creative with their at-home routines. “We’ve had oil baths, we’ve had shower shows, we’ve had dancers rolling around on beds of roses,” says performer and virtual show co-producer Rocket Queen. “Mary’s Club is full of dancers who are just true entertainers and really love their job and love being onstage. We all miss it a lot. This is a fun, creative outlet.” Thank you for your service, Mary’s Club!

New Bill Hopes To Use Oregon As A Testing Ground For Decriminalizing Sex Work

Oregon has decriminalized recreational cannabis, drugs, and now, potentially, sex work. Sex Workers Project is seeking to decriminalize sex work in Oregon, in hopes it will become the first state to do so statewide. Recently, state Rep. Rob Nosse filed House Bill 3088 at the request of the Sex Workers Project, which would invalidate the state’s prostitution statutes, decriminalizing those engaged in selling sex, their customers, and third parties.

Nosse introduced his bill understanding it makes Oregon a test case: “We seem to do really well at passing these libertarianesque things,” he says. Oregon’s progressive atmosphere makes it a prime candidate to test out legal sex work: HB 3088 would implement what advocates call “full decriminalization,” removing penalties for selling sex, paying for it, and facilitating it as a third party. The Sex Workers Project is gearing up for an all-out public relations campaign, which it calls DecrimwORk, including state-level efforts around “decriminalizing, destigmatizing and decarcerating sex workers in the state.”

Oregon’s Coronavirus Sex PSA Puts NYC’s To Shame With Graphic Emojis

Oregon has released a coronavirus sex guide — and this one has visuals. While NYC’s PSA went viral, Oregon’s handbook for fucking during the pandemic includes explicit emojis. “This is the horniest psa i’ve ever seen and i love it,” responded one amused Twitter user.

“Take this time to find out what makes you feel good,” the health agency wrote, along with colorful pictures of a Fleshlight, condoms and a vibrator. It also illustrates Oregon’s efforts to keep citizens clean while they do the dirty, which includes a pair of hands dutifully washing “for at least twenty seconds” — that’s “before and after sex.” The infographic also suggests “pressing pause” on “rimming,” an echo of New York’s viral guide, which explicitly warned readers about eating ass.
