The star broke OnlyFans record by earning $1 million in 24 hours after lying to fans by promising nudes. Thorne is also facing critique for exploiting the platform as an “experiment” while some longtime sex workers on the platform are struggling to pay rent. As one sex worker says, “Sex Workers are unable to get pandemic relief because of criminalization and are struggling to get people to spend $5/month on their content, meanwhile a rich celebrity makes $1 million in a day cosplaying as one.
