NYC Sex Workers’ Pop-Up

Sex workers in New York City took their message to the streets with the Sex Workers’ Pop-Up, which showcases art by activists who are demanding the decriminalization and destigmatization of the sex work industry. The pop-up puts authentic sex workers’ stories on display, bringing the underground nature of sex work out into the public arena as a way to show that “sex work is work.” The art raises awareness about the issues that sex workers face from not having legal rights or workers benefits.

The most marginalized sex workers are women of color and trans women, so much of the artwork shows viewers who these people really are, letting them see who would be directly affected by the policy change. There’s also a room full of red umbrellas, which has symbolized the beauty and strength of sex workers’ rights since 2010. The work featured in the pop-up is risque and thought-provoking, urging viewers to think about sex work from a more compassionate and nuanced perspective.

Health Department Officials Distribute NYC-Themed Condoms

condompinHealth Department officials rolled out the Big Apple’s latest condom wrapper on Valentine’s Day, featuring the gold “NYC LEGEND XL” condom with the city’s famous street grid on the label. NYC held a condom contest to pick the new design: “City residents helped us select the design, so this is a condom by New Yorkers for New Yorkers,” said the Health Commissioner. “While the condom is new, the message stays the same — have fun but remember to use the tools that help you lead a healthier, safer sex life.”

Officials hooked up with condom distributors across the city on National Condom Awareness Day to hand out the newly designed condoms, T-shirts and other safe sex-related swag at events in Manhattan, the Bronx and at LaGuardia. Officials have distributed more than 424 million condoms and other safer-sex products since unveiling the NYC Condom on Valentine’s Day in 2007. “No glove, no love!” one of the featured condom distribution contractors said. “Protect yourself with the NYC Legend XL.”

Penis Fillers Are ‘Growing’ In Popularity

Guys are swarming plastic surgeons to have their dicks pumped up with phallic fillers. They cost between $3,000 to $25,000, and according to one Park Avenue surgeon, “The numbers are up 25% over last year, and I do about 30 a month.” The package-pumping fillers, which are made with hyaluronic acid, have been taking off lately with men of all ages.

NYC plastic surgeons say these fillers are catching on because they’re culturally acceptable (thank you, Kardashians), minimally invasive and not permanent—injections last up to two years and can be “melted” down with enzymes if a man has post-op regrets. Interestingly, the shots increase girth not length, which men say really enhances sex for their partners. One happy customer who went from a circumference of 6 inches to 8 inches, said “Some women are like, ‘Whoa, it’s really enormous. I better do yoga if I want to keep dating you.’ I hooked up with this British girl and she said, ‘Bloody hell.’”

Tenant Uses East Village Townhouse For Wild Sex Parties, Lawsuit Says

ID-100216698A randy tenant is being sued for using his rented East Village townhouse as a rowdy sex den, charging $60 to attend sex-filled parties. According to the lawsuit, the tenant would regularly host swingers, spankings and group foreplay. The landlord alleges that within a month of signing of the lease, the tenant opened the space to “lewd, loud” parties almost every week.

An online ad billed the venue as “the most luxurious playspace in the city for naughty!” “Sex is secondary, merely the cherry atop the cake of fetish play for us and many,” the listing on Eventbrite.com boasted. The landlord hired a private investigator who photographed naked people engaging in foreplay, and “a naked man who sat on a swing being spanked by two women clad in lingerie.” Some of the bashes have been so busy, the place is packed “to the point of overcapacity,” and the music has been loud enough to shake the walls of adjoining structures, neighbors said.
