Egyptian Woman Arrested For Baking Pornographic Pastries

It seems “food porn” is not just a description for delectable food in Egypt. An Egyptian woman was briefly detained for allegedly baking sexually suggestive cakes that were eaten at a Cairo birthday party. Before her arrest, photos of the racy pastries — which entail cupcakes garnished with genitalia and lingerie-shaped frosting — went viral online.

The X-rated cakes included dicks, pussies, and asses in a black thong with a red heart on one cheek. “Posting naked pictures, candy, holograms, and products with sexual expressions and fallen revelations is legitimately forbidden and legally criminal,” the Islamic authorities wrote on Facebook. A human rights lawyer came to the woman’s defense, tweeting that the state wanted “to eliminate any space for personal freedom in Egypt under the pretext of safeguarding Egyptian family values.”

A Black and trans-owned sex toy store says that another sex toy company is trying to shut it down following a trademark dispute over the name “enby,” which is a term sometimes used to describe nonbinary people. It seems a sex toy store named Wild Flower threatened to sue The Enby Store over the use of the word “enby.” Wild Flower claims that it “has the common law trademark,” and requested that the trademark be “respected.”

The Enby Store started a GoFundMe to raise profits to fight the lawsuit, which has already reached more than its $25,000 goal. “We fundamentally believe that no one can own the term ‘enby,'” Enby’s GoFundMe description says. “Enby is a descriptive term that under law cannot be trademarked … This would be as if a sex toy company was trying to claim ownership of the word Gay, Lesbian, Transgender, Bisexual or Queer. These are terms that belong to all of us in the community.” Other sex toy companies have shown support for The Enby Store, with one saying “Unbound stands with Enby in the belief that any word that is an identity cannot and should not belong to any sole individual or company.”

Puerto Rico Quickly Scraps Pandemic Safe Sex Campaign Amid Backlash

It seems a new safe sex campaign in Puerto Rico aimed at helping citizens during the pandemic was not received well. PR’s health department quickly scrapped the “offensive” safe sex campaign which promoted masturbation as a way to avoid becoming infected with COVID-19. A health expert added: “It seems they didn’t anticipate there was going to be this backlash when Puerto Rico is truly very conservative regarding these issues.”
