The Most Googled Sex Questions Of 2023

Google recently revealed what people really wanted to know about sex this year. The most googled sex question of 2023 was: “What is the speed bump position?” The term was popularized after a contestant on “Love Island” said it was his favorite sex position—the position involves having a pillow placed under a person’s hips as they lie face down.

Searches for the meaning of “sex positivity” were also popular. Others longed to know how many dates they should go on before having sex with someone, while some fitness junkies wanted to find out how many calories they burned during sex. (Spoiler: It is about 100 calories!) Happy New Year!

Study Finds Couples Forgo Sex On Christmas, But Fuck On New Years

A new study finds the run up to Christmas is not a popular window for sex—unlike New Years. Researchers looked at sex log data from half a million women worldwide, finding a lull in sexual activity leading up to Christmas Day. Christmas Day itself saw slightly elevated levels of sex on average across four countries.

Overall, sexual activity grew after Christmas and peaked in the New Year, suggesting champagne is the perfect inspiration for getting frisky. ‘One pattern consistent among countries was decreased sexual activity in the three days before Christmas, which was followed by elevated sexual activity on Christmas and the three days after,’ say the experts, who are from Stanford University in California and Columbia University in New York. ‘For all locations, New Year had the highest magnitude increase in sexual activity.’

Nearly Half Of Americans Claim They Had The Best Sex Of Their Life In 2019

white-1822497_640Forty-four percent of people rate 2019 as their best year for sex yet—with 79 percent saying they are happy with their sex lives—according to new research. The poll of 2,000 sexually-active Americans also discovered nearly half (47 percent) say their sex life was better in 2019 than in 2018. This is because Americans were more interested in experimenting, with one in six trying phone sex and another 29 percent using a sex toy for the first time.

Participants were more adventurous with sex: they tried anal sex, handcuffs and blindfolds, and sexting for the first time. One in five had sex in a car for the very first time while another one in six engaged in roleplay. But just because 2019 was a great year for sex doesn’t mean Americans are going to stop experimenting in 2020: 74 percent of those surveyed are hoping to be more sexually adventurous next year.

This amazing new sex toy sits between the labia during sex so women can enjoy the experience completely hands-free. Look, Ma, no hands!
  2. Marni’s ass play on Girls
The now infamous analingis scene on this season of Girls had the entire internet in an uproar. Even the cast is still talking about it.
  3. A suction-based clit stimulator
So far, the Womanizer has gotten very positive reviews. Instead of vibrating, it gently “sucks” on the clit.
  4. High-tech Kegel devices
There’s two kegel devices that connects to your phone and promises to make doing your pelvic floor exercises more fun and exciting: the kGoal Boost for guys and the Elvie for women.

It’s always great when popular shows push the boundaries of sex on television (i.e., the usual PIV intercourse).
  6. The book Come as You Are
Emily Nagoski wrote an inclusive sex-positive book on women’s sexuality. She has a Ph.D. in human sexuality, and she gave a lot of women a new, more enlightened perspective on their sex lives with this book.
  7. The alien-laying sex toy, Ovipositer
Well, we can definitely say that this was probably the strangest sex toy of 2015! It’s a dildo that gives you the sensation of having gelatinous alien eggs laid inside you.
