What if we told you there’s an optimum time of the day to have sex? Better start setting your clock, because according to a recent study, the best time to have sex is around 45 minutes after you wake up. The survey used data from 1,000 participants and found that 7:30am is the sweet spot for getting it on.

Researchers note that “energy levels are at their highest after a good night’s rest which means both sexes have more stamina.” Interestingly, sex is like exercise in that “the rush of endorphins sparked by sex lowers blood pressure and stress levels and makes us feel more upbeat for the rest of the day.” The survey adds that since male testosterone levels peak in the morning, guys last longer in bed—so be sure to start penciling in some good morning sex!

Here’s How People Orgasm Around The World

cup-1010916_1920Ever wonder how people orgasm in different parts of the world? Thanks to a new survey from adult toy retailer Lelo you can find out what countries have the best, loudest, and most frequent orgasms. Here are the juicy results from 2,200 people polled across 21 countries.

  1. Norwegians have the most orgasms
35% of Norwegian respondents claim they orgasm at least once a day—the global average is only two to three times a week.
  2. Brazilians are screamers
Brazilians are easily the loudest in bed, with 65% of respondents saying they scream during sex.
  3. Italians, Spaniards, and Chileans cum the hardest
Not surprisingly, these three “Romance” countries report the most intense orgasms.
  4. Brits cum a lot
The stereotype that Brits are boring in bed has been laid to rest (pun intended): 11% of UK respondents claim they orgasm at least once a day, and 53% said their orgasms were sometimes loud, the highest in that category.
  5. Australians are some of the quietest cummers
Over a third of respondents say they’re usually quiet in bed. What happened to the Thunder Down Under?
  6. Canadians need to start having better orgasms
Sadly, 15% of Canadians have never even experienced an orgasm, and another 15% rate their orgasm intensity just a 1 out of 10. As BuzzFeed says, “Stop being so polite, Canada!”

Scientists Discover Surprising Truth About Boob Preference

best_phone_sex_niteflirt_brasBoobs: guys love them. And recently, a team of European scientists received funding to study the everlasting male obsession with female breasts. In a report aptly titled “Men’s preferences for women’s breast size and shape in four cultures,” published in the Journal of Evolution and Human Behavior, a team of researchers (both male and female) report that it might be shape, not size, that appeals to men when appraising a breast’s attractiveness.

The study also found that, surprisingly, bigger isn’t necessarily better—it seems firmness is the most important quality for men, which is why shape is so essential. Scientists think the research might shine light on the evolutionary reason why men are so infatuated with boobs, since breast shape can give important clues about a woman’s fertility. So, there you have it: since the dawn of man, dudes have admired boobs.

Looking to indulge your obsession? We’ve got everything you might be hankering for right here!

Study Reveals Ideal Number of Previous Sexual Partners For Men and Women

sexy-librarianIf you’ve ever wondered what the optimal “golden number” is for notches on your bedpost, a new study has the answer. Published in the Journal of Sex Research, the study asked participants to rank a potential sexual partner’s attractiveness based on how many sexual partners they had in the past. And according to the survey of 188 heterosexual participants on Facebook, the number’s a lot lower than you may think.

For one-night stands, the optimal number was between 2 to 6, with women slightly more forgiving towards men’s previous flings. But when it came to long-term relationships, both sexes were reluctant to get involved with someone with more than around 2 to 3 previous sexual partners. As one researcher of the study noted, “contrary to the idea that male promiscuity is tolerated but female promiscuity is not, both sexes expressed equal reluctance to get involved with someone with an overly extensive sexual history.” While we’re all about equality of the sexes, we have this to say to both men and women: lighten up; it’s only a number.

Going Bare Down There May Boost the Risk Of STDs

1435975150441.cachedA new study in the journal Sexually Transmitted Infections found that regular pubic hair removal is linked with an increased risk for herpes, syphilis and HPV. According to the research, people who “mow their lawns” at least once in their lifetimes are nearly twice as likely to have an STD. And “extreme groomers,” or those who shave it all off more than 11 times a year, were more than four times as likely to have had an infection.

“We were surprised at how big the effect was,” says urologist and lead researcher of the study. “Right now, we have no way knowing if grooming causes the increase in risk for infections. All we can say is that they’re correlated.” The study surveyed about 7,500 men and women between ages 18 and 65 about their grooming habits. About two-thirds of men had manscaped and more than 80 percent of women shaved their pussies. Researchers aren’t sure what the connection is at this point, but they said it makes sense that shaving and waxing could make you more vulnerable to infections due to “microtears and cuts” that might be unhealed during sex, making it easier for viruses and bacteria to enter the skin. As one researcher says, “Pubic hair is there for a reason.”

Study Finds Only Half of British Women Can Identify the Pussy on a Diagram

A new study conducted for Gynecological Cancer Awareness Month in September asked British women to identify their lady parts on a diagram. The website encourages women to “take part in our quiz on the female anatomy and see if you can correctly label all the different parts of the female anatomy.” So, how’d they do? The results were pretty shocking.

Only half of the 1,000 women polled for the survey could correctly locate the pussy—just 56 percent. And less than a third could correctly label all six parts. Think it’s just Brits who are too busy drinking tea and eating biscuits to learn their own anatomy? A 2014 Yale University study found that US women are equally incompetent when it comes to knowing how their own bodies work. Interestingly, the British study also found that 70 percent of women could correctly identity the foreskin, penis and testes. Looks like both Brits and Americans need to bone up on their sexual education!

The Receiver Of Your Sexts May Be Sharing Them With Friends, Study Finds

10817159986_3b12084857_zIf you think that nude pic you sent is for the receiver’s eyes only, guess again. A new study out of Indiana University finds that a shocking number of people share your supposed “private” sexts with their friends. According to the study, 23 percent, or 1 in 4, of those who received naked pictures shared them with more than three friends.

Sexting, which happens mostly between couples in relationships as a way to flirt, thankfully often leads to positive outcomes (i.e., getting laid). But for others, as the study points out, “it may lead to negative outcomes such as lowered self-esteem or damage to reputation.” The study hopes to get more people to consider what happens when our privacy is violated because of sexting. Like the study’s author says, “As sexting becomes more common and normative, we’re seeing a contemporary struggle as men and women attempt to reconcile digital eroticism with real-world consequences.”

Most Women Prefer Hairless Pussies, New Study Confirms

best_phone_sex_niteflirt_pubicThe intriguing question of whether women prefer their pussies to be perfectly groomed continues to be a source of interest for researchers. And now, a new study proves that most women, particularly those with access to luxuries such as waxing, do indeed like to go hairless. So what exactly is it about bald pubes, or as The New York Times so aptly puts it, “female genitalia, bereft of hair,” that appeals to women?

The study published recently in the journal JAMA Dermatology “surveyed a sample group of 3,316 women (age 18 to 65) and found that 62.1% of them prefer to have no pubic hair and many (59%) do it for pure hygiene reasons, whether through waxing, shaving or other means,” reports Jezebel. It seems women—especially those who are younger, white, and more educated—shave their snatches increasingly for cosmetic purposes, and also because their partners prefer it: “A total of 875 (31.5%) reported grooming because they believe it makes their genitals more attractive, and 586 (21.1%) reported grooming because of partner preference,” the study concludes. The study also found that the ladies getting laid the most are the ones who regularly groom. Finally, the age-old question of why women shave their pussies has been answered!

Study Shows Watching Porn Promotes Safe Sex

condompinConsidering porn’s bad rap, especially Utah’s recent denouncement of it as an “epidemic,” many wouldn’t believe that adult entertainment actually promotes safe sex. But the porn industry just got a pretty unlikely endorsement—from science! A new study released by Columbia University shows that gay men who watch porn are actually sexually healthier than those who don’t.

The study surveyed 265 men who have sex with men, finding that those who watched porn were more likely to practice safe sex. “Among the 92 percent who reported watching condomless porn, nearly half admitted that the images had influenced them to have condomless sex. The men agreed that pornography depicting safe sex encouraged them to wear a condom as well,” reports the Daily Beast. What this means is that despite porn being labeled as “detrimental” and “dangerous,” it has the potential to help people to practice safe sex. So instead of denouncing porn, perhaps policy makers should be trying to positively influence behavior by making more sexually explicit images available. Thank you, science!
