Sex Workers Are Feeling The Pinch Of The Sluggish Economy

The plunging economy has been hard on one particular sector—sex workers. They say that decades-high inflation has forced their clients to cut back on discretionary spending, which has meant extreme drops in income. OnlyFans performers have seen their incomes drop by as much as 50%.

“My traffic has been down a lot,” one model said. “I’m working harder than I have ever been.” Other OnlyFans models said they have noticed similar trends, with one saying “My whale tippers haven’t been online as often and I’m getting more freeloaders on my page.” Reddit forums frequented by sex workers who service clients at brothels said they have seen their workload decrease significantly in recent weeks: “I just sat at the broth for 6 hours with 0 clients,” one anonymous sex worker wrote on Reddit.

Andrew Christian’s Steamy New Book Is the Gay Equivalent of Madonna’s ‘Sex’

While the homoerotic images definitely feature the mostly bare, oiled-up, chiseled male models associated with his eponymous clothing brand, Christian hopes his book will be seen as more than another hot collection of male-on-male erotica. Following his successful Indiegogo campaign, the 200-page book isn’t just provocatively photographed sexy models and gay adult film stars with giant packages—the images are meant to “empower” the gay community (check them out below).

With its S&M iconography and full frontal male nudity shot exclusively in black and white, the book is an explicit homage to Madonna’s infamous Sex, in addition to Playgirl and Abercrombie & Fitch catalogs. Christian intended readers to become aroused by the photos, “which find the men shackled in cages, relaxing in saunas and lounging in bed,” according to HuffPo. But the scintillating photos depicting gay sex also make a bold political statement, which the title proudly proclaims: Sex=Power=Freedom.

It’s a collection of images showing all the work that goes into an iconic Playboy spread. From the right lighting to positioning the centerfolds at the perfect angle, the pictures prove that it takes a dedicated team of people to make the erotic magic happen.

As Beautiful Decay pointed out, the pictures show the calculated reality of making beautiful people even more beautiful.
