Women Who Fuck Less Frequently At Risk For Early Menopause

Having sex less frequently is linked to earlier menopause, according to a new study. Researchers analyzed data from a 10-year national study of almost 3,000 women, finding that women who engaged in sexual activity every week were 28 percent less likely to have experienced menopause than those having sex less than once a month. “Similarly, those who had sex monthly were 19% less likely to have attained menopause—defined as 12 months without a period—than those who had sex less than once a month,” reports CNN.

The researchers defined sexual activity as including masturbation, so the generalized menopause link applies to solo sex as well as partnered sex; and the definition of partnered sex was broad enough to include “sexual touching or caressing.” Although the study simply found a correlation between less sex and earlier menopause, researchers speculate from the results that the body might take hints from frequent sex that there is a possibility of reproducing. On the other hand, if you’re not having sex “you’re not going to reproduce, there’s no point ovulating—you’re better off using that energy elsewhere,” explains the lead author.

A Pill Made Of Curry Herbs Could Spice Up Women’s Sex Lives

naked beautiful bodyAn herb commonly used in Indian curry dishes just might make women’s sex life a lot more appetizing, researchers say. The plant called fenugreek may help naturally boost women’s libido, according to a study published in BMC Women’s Health. The herbal supplement called Libicare showed promising results in increasing sexual desire to a group of women who had entered menopause.

“The administration of this product is associated with a significant increase not only in desire and arousal, but also in vaginal lubrication and orgasm,” the study’s authors said. They added, “This occurs as part of a domino effect which makes other sexual domains improve when one of them does, and also has a double effect of this product on increasing free testosterone and local vasodilatation [increased circulation].” Researchers also found that the spice helped men’s sexual health.
