Not Masturbating Raises Health Risks

A study is hitting back at “NoFap,” a movement urging men to avoid masturbation, showing abstaining may lead to health issues. Born out of groups on Reddit, “NoFap” claims not masturbating boosts confidence, focus, and even cures erectile dysfunction. Researchers at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) surveyed 587 men who had taken part in the abstinence practice, finding that men said they felt worthless, shame, sad, and sometimes suicidal when they “relapsed.”

Those who underwent more extended periods of abstinence were likelier to report erectile dysfunction, depression, anxiety, and more sex negativity. The UCLA scientists also found that many people on the online forums singing NoFap’s praises were doing so with little scientific backing. Medical professionals encourage regular masturbation, saying it can help to reduce stress, improve self-esteem and even, for men, reduce the risk of prostate cancer.

LA Deputy Investigated For Allegedly Having Sex On Duty

A California sheriff’s deputy is being investigated for having sex on the job—after accidentally broadcasting herself getting frisky on her force’s radio line. The broadcast caught her giggling playfully as she warned her male companion: “You’re gonna rip my underwear!” Sources say she is a rookie Los Angeles deputy who seemingly engaged her radio by mistake while getting handsy in a parking lot during a break from her shift at the Men’s Central Jail.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said it “is aware of a potential incident involving personnel involved in inappropriate behavior.” They said in a statement: “The department does not tolerate inappropriate behavior and has an expectation that each department member will conduct themselves in a professional manner consistent with our values.” Indeed, a deputy from the same force was fired for an almost identical incident when he left his microphone on while having sex at Universal Studios Hollywood recently.

The 15th Annual No Pants Subway Ride

Subway riders from cities like New York, Tokyo, Moscow, Madrid, London, and Los Angeles showed off their assets in celebration of the 15th annual No Pants Subway Ride. The pants-less ride was started in New York by the improv comedy collective Improv Everywhere, who thought it would be hilarious to see hordes of people casually riding the subway in full winter garb without pants. “The participants behave as if they do not know each other, and they all wear winter coats, hats, scarves, and gloves,” explained Improv Everywhere on their website. “The only unusual thing is their lack of pants.” The riders in their underwear ranged from the cheeky (some women with “check it twice” on their asses) to the ironic (one guy with tuxedo briefs complete with tux jacket and bow tie) to the sexy (ladies wearing lingerie and showing off their booties).
