Reddit Celebrates Father’s Post About Catching His Son Having Gay Sex

This dad’s subsequent Reddit post, where he lovingly seeks advice on how to make his son feel comfortable, has the internet ready to dole out a ‘father of the year’ award.  It received thousands of likes and retweets, with many tipping their hats to the father and also offering up much-needed advice and support.

“I [45M] Walked in on son [16M] having gay sex and he’s become quite awkward and distant,” the title reads. “I’m also going to buy him a lock for his door and tell him that I want him to feel comfortable ‘doing it’ in the house with his boyfriend,” he wrote. A user responded by congratulating the dad: “Dad being accepting from the start is great.” Another user wrote: “Dad wanting them to feel safe being intimate at home is an unexpected and great surprise.”

Hallmark Pulls Ad Featuring Lesbians Kissing

LoveWins3The Hallmark Channel has apologized for pulling commercials featuring a lesbian couple kissing in the wake of public outrage. Daily Mail reports, “Hallmark announced in a statement that the commercials for wedding planning site Zola, one of which showed two women kissing at the altar on their wedding day, will be reinstated, days after they were removed following a complaint from conservative group One Million Moms.” A Hallmark spokesperson previously told The Associated Press that the network pulled the ads because the controversy was creating a distraction.

Hallmark Cards CEO said in a statement: “The Crown Media team has been agonizing over this decision as we’ve seen the hurt it has unintentionally caused. Said simply, they believe this was the wrong decision.” He added, “We are truly sorry for the hurt and disappointment this has caused.” Hallmark faced bitter backlash on social media after pulling the ad—the hashtag #BoycottHallmark was trending at one point on Twitter, with Ellen DeGeneres asking, ”Isn’t it almost 2020?”

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Features First-Ever Same-Sex Kiss

Director J.J. Abrams teased fans that there would be LGBTQ representation in the new Star Wars film. And fans finally got to see the same-sex relationship in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker during the film’s release. Two female members of the Resistance shared a kiss in one celebration scene in the film — a first for the franchise’s 40-year history on the silver screen.

“In the case of the LGBTQ community, it was important to me that people who go to see this movie feel that they’re being represented in the film,” Abrams said. Many fans speculated that the same-sex sequence would be shared by Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) and Finn (John Boyega), but Abrams quickly shot that idea down during an interview with Variety. LGBTQ folks are very pleased to see a same-sex relationship in a galaxy far, far away.

Delta Restores Same-Sex Love Scenes To ‘Booksmart’ And ‘Rocketman’

2900305586_530cf11668_oAfter massive online backlash, Delta Air Lines is restoring the original versions of Booksmart and Rocketman for in-flight viewing. Booksmart’s director, Olivia Wilde, wrote on Twitter, “They muted or cut the word ‘vagina.’ VAGINA. They removed Molly’s entire scissoring sequence. They cut Molly’s masturbating story. They cut the porn moment in the Lyft.”

According to a response from Delta, the airline uses a third party company that censors films based on what it deems inappropriate. In the case of several films, that appears to be any mention of an LGBTQ relationship or female pleasure. Delta was quick to apologize, promising that this would not happen again.

A Library Wouldn’t Let LGBTQ Artists Hang A Poster About Fisting

gaypo0rnTwo artists are disappointed after moving their show that included LGBTQ sex education from a Calgary Public Library branch after the library objected to some of the content. The show, which the pair have shown in other cities, examines femme identities and includes work about safer LGBTQ sex, including a video that displays objects like dental dams and gloves. But when the artists went to set up the show at the library, it didn’t go according to plan.

The manager said that the poster was “sexually explicit” and would not be allowed. The poster included imagery from a vintage lesbian magazine, along with safer-sex tips, including the “Do’s and Don’ts of Fisting.” One of the artists said, “The whole intention of the exhibit was about education. I think that’s why it was so severely disappointing.”

Infamous Gay Conversion Therapist Comes Out As Gay

gaypo0rnDavid Matheson, one of the most prominent gay conversion therapists in the country, has devoted his career to attempting to “treat” gay men for their sexual orientation. Now, he recently wrote a Facebook post confirming his orientation, and apologizing for the harm he’s done to thousands: “Not that I would excuse myself, but any shortcomings I had as a therapist came from too narrow a view of what ‘emotionally healthy’ can look like,” he wrote.

Conversion therapy, which has been denounced by the American Medical Association and the American Psychological Association, has been banned in 15 states. Truth Wins Out says, “Conversion therapy employs guilt and shame to browbeat desperate and vulnerable people into renouncing their humanity.” Truth Wins Out also had this to say about Matheson’s apology:

“While I am pleased for Mr. Matheson that he has found a path forward for his life, I can’t help but think of the hundreds if not thousands of people who are still stuck in the closet, a closet that was created in part by Mr. Matheson himself. I hope that Mr. Matheson will do whatever he can to rectify the harm that he’s inflicted on many people in the LGBTQ community.”

Lesbian Couple In Japan To Get Married 26 Times Around The World

One lesbian couple in Japan is protesting LBGTQ rights in style. The couple is pushing back against their union not being recognized in Japan by marrying 26 times across the world in nations where same-sex marriage in legal. “I want to show through our wedding photos that being lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) is normal so that those who are troubled by their sexual status can harbor hope,” Misato Kawasaki said.

They’re calling the project the “26-time marriage,” a six-month tour through parts of Europe, Africa, North and South America. They will wed 26 times and interview local Japanese same-sex couples and officials about their rights and cultural attitudes in the area. The lesbian couple is seeking funds to cover costs for the trip, and will share their findings and hope to create a company that offers wedding services for the LGBTQ community.
