East Asia Has a ‘Japanese Fetish’

best_phone_sex_niteflirt_japangirlResearchers believe that East Asia may have a “Japanese fetish.” According to PornMD, eight disparate East Asian countries all share the same kinky penchant for Japanese porn. Data shows that while people from a country will most often seek out porn of their own nationality (In the Philippines, they search for Filipinos, and so on), in these East Asian countries, they all search for “Japan.”

Even though South Koreans love them some American porn, “Japanese” remains one of the most popular search terms there and in every other East Asian country. This could have to do with the massiveness of Japan’s porn industry, which rakes in 20 billion dollars annually and popularized anime and hentai/tentacle porn. Or perhaps a different phenomenon is at play: the Guardian recently reported that many people in Japan have stopped having sex because it takes too much effort. If there’s one thing for sure it’s this: porn is what unites us!

Record Numbers of Couples Living In Sexless Marriages In Japan

PikachuSexA recent report found that nearly half of Japanese married couples have not had sex for more than a month, which is defined as a “sexless” marriage. The Guardian reports, “A record high 47.2% of married men and women said they were in sexless marriages, up 2.6 percentage points from the previous poll in 2014, and significantly higher than the 31.9% recorded when it conducted its first survey of the nation’s bedroom habits in 2004.”

So what could be to blame for the country’s tragic loss of libido? Since the highest rate of sexlessness was found among people in their mid-to-late 40s, a time when the demands of work can be at its highest, it’s clear that Japan needs to do more for its hard-working, sex-starved citizens. The report said, “This is the first time over 30% of men answered that they were too tired from work to have sex”—this shocking percentage highlights the need for a major overhaul in employment practices. Japan should remember this very important proverb: all work and no play makes couples very dull.

Tokyo Comic-Con Bans Men From Cross-Dressing

bieberThere’s one thing you won’t find at the Tokyo Comic-Con among the hordes of guests and celebrity cosplayers: men cross-dressing as female characters. It seems gender-bending for men is strictly forbidden, according to the official site. There is no rule for women, however, about cosplaying as men.

“The ban uses the Japanese word “jyosou” (女装), a word which is defined as ‘wearing female clothing’ and which has the explicit nuance of referring to men wearing women’s clothing,” reports Jezebel. While Tokyo Comic-Con’s rule might seem surprising considering Japan’s long tradition of men dressing as women in kabuki theater, the ban at otaku events is relatively common there. It seems the event’s organizers are concerned about large numbers of men dressed as women showing up. Perhaps Japan should take a page from its own history and un-tie the bunch in its panties?

Japan Opens First Bar Devoted to Getting Women Off

bartokyoIn a very buzz-worthy move, Japan has opened its first bar devoted to vibrators, dildos, and other female sex toys. Love Joule, a funky, colorful bar in Tokyo is the first “love and sex bar dedicated to women,” according to the Tokyo Reporter. The owner of the bar wanted to make female masturbation a less taboo, more open discussion in her famously regressive country. “Since most people view female masturbation as something of a mystery or taboo, it is not a usual topic at typical bars,” she said.

This place is sure to get people talking! Behind the bar where liquor bottles would normally be, there are rows and rows of colorful sex toys. So far, the spot has been very popular with Japan’s commercial sex and adult film stars. One patron explains why she likes the bar: “It is a great place to drink and talk about what we women love to talk about, sex and guys, that’s also a big pull.” Not only that, but the bar prohibits single men from entering without being accompanied by a female companion. Guess they’ll just have to go to one of the many male sex toy shops!

Want to celebrate the joys of female pleasure? Ain’t nothing taboo about women getting off!

Japanese Museum Displays Centuries-Old Controversial Erotic Art

A shunga print. Photograph: Geoffrey Clements/CorbisDespite Japan’s eclectic and hugely popular porn industry, many of its citizens are still prudes when it comes to the country’s rich history with erotic art, or shunga. 133 centuries-old original shunga prints, which mix graphic depictions of sex with visual humor, were rejected by 10 museums before finally finding a home at a little gallery. The woodblock prints are definitely shocking: they are of couples, and groups, in the midst of sexual ecstasy, though they’re often depicted in humorous and satirical ways. Voyeurism and orgies are recurring themes in the art, with women and men in various contorted sexual positions, their kimonos loosened or discarded.

Created in the 17th century and eventually banned for being “obscene,” the works depict all manner of sexual escapades taking place in brothels, teahouses, inns, and even Buddhist temples. But most shocking is not the images themselves (the most famous one called “the Dream of the Fisherman’s Wife,” which depicts a woman being pleasured by two octopuses), but that so many Japanese who love porn and manga wouldn’t want to see what’s being billed as “the original shunga.” Thankfully, not everyone is so prudish: over 9,000 people have gone to see the erotic works. The museum director said, “I hope they will feel a sense of discovery and re-connection with something important that has been missing from the way the cultural history of Japan has been presented until now.”

In the mood for sexual ecstasy? We are always up for wild and shocking escapades!

What Gets People Off at Sex Emporiums Around the World

International sex shops, just like the different cultures and people of various parts of the world, are unique and distinctive. Since every continent and country has their own naughty tastes and preferences when it comes to getting off, Vice decided to investigate international sex emporiums to find out what turns people on all around the world. Here’s some of the interesting things that they found.

In Germany, the uber-popular sex mega-shops cater mainly to fräulein (women), with vibrators as their best-selling item last year. Berlin is also home to DILDOKING, which as the name suggests sells dildos, but also plenty of vibrators, anal beads or “love balls”, fetish gear and more. In Japan, the most famous sex shop is M, a seven-story mecca that carries, of course, Doll pillows, and basically anything else you might fancy. In China, the biggest sex store is Juse, which has 500 stores nationwide, and sells vibrators and BDSM toys as its most popular merch. So, as it turns out, while people are different all over the world, we’re all pretty similar when it comes to our sex toys!

Feel like illuminating your desire with us? We cater to all tastes and preferences right here!
