Hardcore Porn Keeps Showing Up On Spotify

Spotify is getting X-rated. People keep uploading nudes and hardcore porn images to the music site, even though it’s against Spotify’s rules. Spotify’s terms of service forbid “pornography or visual depictions of genitalia or nudity presented for the purpose of sexual gratification”—and the site says that it frequently identifies and takes down such content. 

But Vice reported that even Spotify searches for periods or commas can turn up XXX results. In addition to user-uploaded porn images on playlists, Spotify is also brimming with “audio porn.” That includes records of users reading erotica or making sounds that are designed to be sexually arousing. Porn was displayed alongside an article about Martin Shkreli being permanently banned from Twitter, as well as a piece about Donald Trump coping with a heckler at a GOP debate.

The images included explicit thumbnails for videos with titles like “Naughty Spy Girls 2” and “Bottoms Up Brianna,” mostly on archival stories dating from 2014 to 2016 that span pop culture, politics and business. Other porn-inflicted sites include Vanity Fair, Vox, Rolling Stone, Newsweek, Teen Vogue, The Mirror, Kokatu and Business Insider Australia. The smut explosion appears to have resulted after a porn site called 5 Star Porn HD bought the domain for Vidme, a now defunct YouTube competitor.

This Porn Features Realistic Senior Sex

YouTube is being slammed by users who’ve clicked on ads that have led to hardcore porn sites. The ads appear on some of YouTube’s most popular videos and show a woman gyrating sexually. They feature a link to something called “Hot Girl 2018,” which is accompanied by a thumbnail of two people fucking—a breach of YouTube’s own guidelines.

When users click on the ad, they’re taken to live webcam performances on European porn site BongaCams. Users were quick to point out YouTube’s hypocrisy on social media sites like Twitter. According to YouTube, “text, image, audio, or video of graphic sexual acts intended to arouse” is explicitly prohibited in all ads. The ads have recently been removed, but YouTube is definitely red-faced over the salacious mishap.
