The sex scene consultant regularly shares how the actors get down and dirty to her over 400,000 followers and reveals her trade secrets while keeping the performers anonymous. One video, which racked up over 5.5 million views, included questions like “can you make sure my butt looks good?”

She also revealed performers have asked her how much tongue to use, what to do if they get aroused or if their “modesty pouch fell off” (a garment that covers the penis, allowing actors to stay covered while appearing naked). In another video, she shares that actors have asked her if they need to shave and how many “thrusts” they have to do for the scene. TikTok users loved the content and many wondered how she dealt with men getting aroused, which she revealed was by just allowing the actors to “take a break.”

“Game of Thrones” star Sean Bean claims intimacy coordinators on set “spoil the spontaneity” of a sex scene. In an interview, Bean said an intimacy coordinator personally “inhibits [him] more.” “I should imagine it slows down the thrust of it. Ha, not the thrust, that’s the wrong word,” Bean said.

“Somebody saying, ‘Do this, put your hand there, while you touch his thing …’” the actor added. “I think the natural way lovers behave would be ruined by someone bringing it right down to a technical exercise.” He compared his experiences with intimacy coordinators to his time filming the 1993 adaptation of “Lady Chatterley’s Lover.” He shared, “‘Lady Chatterley’ was spontaneous. It was joy. We had a good chemistry between us, and we knew what we were doing was unusual. Because she was married, I was married. But we were following the story.”

Intimacy Coordinator Reveals What Happens When Actors Get Aroused While Filming

It might not shock you to hear that many actors get aroused while filming sex scenes. Arousal is very normal, as the actors “are going through the physical and the mind, so yeah, it happens,” an intimacy coordinator recently said in an interview. “Just making it really clear that’s normal and that the worst thing you can do is carry on,” he revealed, adding that coordinators should be clear that, “Hey, this can happen.”

He added that a “time-out” is called for the stars to collect themselves. “The worst thing we can do is gawk or make it a massive deal,” he continued. The star of Netflix’s Bridgerton said her intimacy coordinator helped her with many of the show’s racy sex scenes: “We did the intimate scenes like stunts—we blocked them out, so you have yoga balls in between you and all sorts of things that never make you feel exposed in any way.”
