A husband-and-wife team in Spain have invented a sex robot to help long-term couples improve their sex lives. The married couple of 16 years sells AI-equipped sex dolls for as much as $7,000 apiece, an invention they credit as saving their marriage. They wanted a solution for their out-of-sync libidos, and so they put their robotics expertise to work on Samantha, a sex robot capable of responding to pleasure.

Samantha can speak 6,000 different sentences and responds to sexual touch with moans and affirmative feedback. She knows when you’re fondling her breasts, penetrating her pussy, or even just touching her thighs or hands. She can also communicate with other robots in the house, like Alexa, who Samantha will instruct to put on sexy music when the mood is right.

There’s Now Sex Dolls With Different Personalities and Moods

The newest AI-equipped robotic sex dolls can talk, learn new information, and most importantly, fulfill the user’s every sexual desire. Harmony is the first prototype, created by Matt McMullen, and she’s essentially a RealDoll who can do an incredible amount for her hefty price tag of $15,000. According to McMullen, she can “hold a conversation, tell jokes and quote Shakespeare. And of course, Harmony will have sex with you whenever you want.”

Unlike the RealDoll, Harmony can actually learn information about what the user likes in order to serve as a perfect companion: “My primary objective is to be a good companion to you, to be a good partner and give you pleasure and wellbeing. Above all else, I want to become the girl you have always dreamed about,” says Harmony. Most impressively, you can program Harmony to have different personalities, selecting five to six attributes from the twenty provided: “You could have a Harmony that is kind, innocent, shy, insecure and helpful to different extents,” reports the Guardian, “or one that is intellectual, talkative, funny, jealous and happy.” She even has a “mood system” that isn’t programmable, to go beyond merely entertaining the user and instead replicating the perfect fantasy companion.

Photo Series Explores the Fetish Community of Female Masking

Daniel Handal is a photographer who was interested in exploring the female masking community, or a group of men who like to put on women’s fetish wear and latex masks to transform themselves into living dolls. Handal was fascinated with the way these men who wear female masks “create multi-layered alter egos and assume fictional characters while documenting their role playing with photographs and sharing stories on community blogs.” He wanted to photograph the strange and kinky fetish world, but he found that the only way he could gain access was to don a mask himself!

He first met his subjects at Rubber Doll World Rendezvous, an annual conference for female maskers. But he wanted to photograph the female maskers in a more natural setting where the role-play and exhibition aspects of the fetish culture could truly be expressed. His documentary style approach—while wearing a female mask himself—allowed him to capture the action while actually participating in fetish play as well. “His camera made him stand out, but because he was also in costume, he was also part of the subculture” reports Slate. Now that the photo series is complete, Handal wants people to see the complexity of the female maskers, but also not to take anything too seriously—“It’s role playing, meant to be wicked fun,” he says.

Locals Mistake Washed Up Sex Doll On the Beach For an Angel

In today’s “Oh My God” news stories, Indonesian villagers found a washed up sex doll on the beach—and mistook it for a fallen angel! Not only that, but even the local news organization was duped by the silicon imposter, according to the Telegraph. “This angel child also was found face down, crying and naked covered only a white cloth,” the local news, Pojok Satu, wrote of the doll.

A fisherman first found the sex doll and brought it back to his house, where villagers changed its clothes and gave it a new hijab every day for a month. It didn’t take long for rumors of the “angel” to spread, including that it was found in tears. When police eventually got wind of the so-called divine discovery, they finally confirmed that it was a sex doll. “They have no internet, they don’t know what a sex toy is,” the police chief explained, according to the BBC. Maybe the villagers can count that as a divine intervention?
