A UK study conducted by prophylactic purveyor Durex found that nine out of 10 men opt for “regular” fit when buying contraception—even if they require something on a different scale. Luckily for 92% of men, Durex is now offering an online fitting service to ensure they get the right ones.

The service offers a close-fit condom with around a 2-inch circumference and a wider one that measures 2.2 inches. Users can also select the thickness, choosing extra thin, thin, standard, or thick. The customization doesn’t stop there: men are able to tailor the smoothness of lubricant, choosing either “standard” or “extra.”

UK Condom Sales Surge After COVID-19 Lockdown Ends

Reckitt’s chief executive said following a “more challenging first half of the year,” a relaxing of social distancing mandates led to “improved demand” for products like Durex, which has enjoyed a “double-digit growth in revenue.” “This has been particularly pronounced in markets where the rate of pandemic infection has materially improved,” he said.

The announcement was made on 6/9—National Sex Day.

“As New Yorkers have had to adapt to the realities of the pandemic, so have the Health Department’s service models. Door 2 Door and the Community Home Test Giveaway Virtual Program will allow New Yorkers to access sexual health services from the comfort and safety of their own homes,” the assistant commissioner said. New Yorkers can order free condoms ranging in size and style including NYC Legend XL and Extreme Ribs by visiting nyc.gov/condoms. “Products come in multiples of 30 and are delivered in discreetly packaged envelopes. Orders are limited to two products at a time, and one order per individual every 30 days, while supplies last,” according to a Health Department press release.

Officials have distributed more than 424 million condoms and other safer-sex products since unveiling the NYC Condom on Valentine’s Day in 2007. “No glove, no love!” one of the featured condom distribution contractors said. “Protect yourself with the NYC Legend XL.”
