University Offers Porn Studies Course

A new course at Temple University has students very excited. The professor said the student cap for her new porn studies course shot up from 25 to 40, with many more on the waitlist. The course, “Social Perspectives and Digital Pornography: The Other Sex Ed,” seeks to allow students to discuss sexuality, intimacy, power dynamics and the impacts of the porn industry in society.

“I hope my students leave recognizing how valuable it is to research and to study pornography across all disciplines and to figure out what we can learn,” she said. The course provides a place where students can discuss things that they “sometimes don’t even discuss with their closest friends,” including topics that have become controversial amid the current culture wars on sex and gender. While no porn made it on the curriculum, the students did watch TED Talks on the topic.”

Women Who Watch Porn, Have College Degrees Are More Likely To Cum

Researchers have discovered that women who frequently watch porn are less likely to have difficulty getting turned on and more likely to orgasm while masturbating. In the new study, the research team discovered that frequent porn viewing in women was a predictor for “lower arousal difficulty and orgasmic difficulty, greater pleasure, and a higher percentage of masturbatory events leading to orgasm.” Researchers found porn did not negatively impact women’s relationships with their partners, either—refuting claims from conservative organizations, like anti-porn nonprofit Fight the New Drug.

According to the research, porn actually has no bearing on romantic relationships; it just makes sex a lot more fun. Meanwhile, education levels also served as a predictor for less issues getting turned on while masturbating, a “higher likelihood” of having an orgasm during sex, and experiencing less difficulty reaching an orgasm while touching oneself or having sex. “One common interpretation of this relationship is that more educated (and thus literate in many cultures) women are more aware of their sexuality, sexual issues, and sexual choices, and thus able to better articulate their sexual desires to their partner and to prioritize their own pleasure as an integral component of meaningful sexual relationships,” the study notes.

Indiana University’s ‘SexFest’ Features BDSM Safety And Sex Toys

feet-1095408_1280Indiana University is bringing sex positivity to campus with its fifth annual SexFest, an event organized by student-run Sexual Health Advocacy Group. The school is hosting several events and demonstrations throughout the week, including a BDSM Safety Panel that will feature “personal stories from individuals who practice BDSM.” The BDSM panel even includes BDSM practitioners explaining and demonstrating proper technique for flogging.

Other events include “Kick-off to Kink,” which focuses on a “discussion about desire and communication” and includes an appearance from a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Another event features a “Kink Workshop” where people are able to “browse educational booths demonstrating the use of different sex toys.” Indiana University says, “Our public health researchers have found some evidence to suggest that people are engaging in a broader range of sexual activities and as a result, it is the IU Health Center’s mission to make sure they practice it safely, following the BDSM community’s principal tenets of ‘safe, sane, and consensual.’”

Conservative College Men Campaign For Porn Censorship

readingConservative college men at a handful of campuses across the country are calling for a ban on porn. The campaign, launched by students at Notre Dame, has since spread to Harvard University, Princeton University and University of Pennsylvania, according to Inside Higher Ed. Their goal is to ban porn from campus WiFi by installing filters similar to once recently implemented by Starbucks, McDonalds and Panera—even though students can easily stream porn from their phones by using data or access porn via a private WiFi network.

“Pornography is the new sex education, providing a disturbing script about what men find sexually appealing and what women should do to please them,” said the campaign’s lead writer. “Notre Dame’s sincere efforts to educate students about consent and other aspects of healthy sexuality are pitifully weak in light of the fact that by the time students arrive on campus, many have been addictively watching pornography for years.” As others have pointed out, not all porn perpetuates objectification of women, especially feminist-porn made by and for women. It’s also not clear why a handful of young, conservative males feel they’re the right people to lead this conversation.

Harvard Sex Week Covers ‘BDSM In The Dorm Room’

magicwandarthistoryHarvard Sex Week was all about kinky sex this year, covering a range of topics for eager students. The course “BDSM in the dorm room” was one of the more popular offerings, along with a class on polyamory and an “A-Z guide of sexual fetishes.” The focus of the fetish class was to help students learn how to communicate their desires to try out a fetish with their partners.

The Sex Week program coordinators also chose to host a lecture with the cheeky title “Hit Me Baby One More Time: BDSM.” They explained, “We embrace a sex positive ethos, which includes but certainly is not limited to, fetishes.” In general, Sex Week hopes to teach students the… ahem, ins-and-outs of sex; more specifically, topics that definitely aren’t covered in Sex Ed. “Young adulthood is a time when it’s natural to be inquisitive about sex and sexuality. But, without formal education, we often turn to TV, the internet and friends for sex advice, which is not always accurate or helpful,” they said.

Professor Accidentally Plays Hardcore Porn For 500 Students

bathroomOne psychology professor really knows how to get his students’ attention. On the very first day of class, he gave an excellent demonstration of a “Freudian slip” when he accidentally played hardcore porn in a packed lecture room of 500 students. The teacher started the 9am course by connecting his computer to the projector—without realizing he had pornography playing on his laptop.

The graphic video played on the big screen in front of the classroom for all the students to see and hear for at least 10 seconds. The students erupted in shock and laughter, as the professor scrambled to turn off the video. Students filmed the chaos of the classroom on SnapChat and posted it online on Reddit where it has been shared hundreds of times. “I have apologized to my class and now I want to move on,” said the professor in an interview with the school newspaper.

Dominatrix To Teach College Students About BDSM at Northwestern University

womandominatingmanStudents will finally get good sex education, at Northwestern University’s annual “sex week.” College students will learn about important topics such as polyamory and masturbation on campus, and a dominatrix will teach the kinky class on “healthy BDSM practices.” Organizers said the class aimed to remove some of the stigma associated with BDSM by the 50 Shades of Grey book and movie series.

“What better way can you learn about the basics of BDSM than from a professional domme in Chicago?” the Facebook event read. The dominatrix, who runs Chicago Dungeon Rentals and is an established sex educator, added: “My firm hand reveals skill earned by meticulous training and dedicated practice. You are before a true student turned teacher of the art of kink and domination.” Other events include “Sex Jeopardy!” and “Sex is Good!: The Benefits of Masturbation,” and a talk by the New York Museum of Sex curator.

How did you begin in the world of adult chat and phone sex?
Actually, it was suggested to me by my college roommates. I wanted to learn more about sex and decided to become a phone sex operator this year.

What is your favorite part of being a Flirt on NiteFlirt?
You see, I am still a virgin and I just wanted to discuss some of my fantasies before losing my virginity. Being on Niteflirt allows for me to explore my fantasies of being a pamper princess, having sex with aliens/robots/superheroes, and exploring my ripoff fetish.

Lucifer Rose02What do you do for fun when not taking phone sex calls on NiteFlirt?
Currently, I’m attending university. My major is business administration with a concentration in wine studies and my minor is theater arts so I am totally busy being a musical theater and wine geek! Plus, I write short fairy tale romances that I sell on NiteFlirt. In my spare time, I attend rockabilly festivals, comic conventions, UFO conventions, and tattoo conventions. I love collecting dolls and dreaming about getting fucked by a prince charming. I am into the 1960’s girl group the Shangri-Las because I am into cheap melodrama music by girls like me!

If you were some sort of erotic sexy food, what would you be?
Glamorous chocolate dipped strawberries because I am glamorous and spunky, and virginally sweet.

College Promo Video Uses Sexy Library Hook Up To Recruit Students

sexy-scientistA Canadian University is trying to attract students with its new promo ad—so of course the video includes a sexy library hook up! It seems the college went a little too literal with the “college fantasy” of getting it on in the library stacks. The hot hook up was featured front-and-center in the promotional video and, not surprisingly, students love it and teachers hate it!

The video shows attractive students in everyday college scenarios: solving math problems, playing football and, most stimulating of all, getting their sexual education on in the library. The university’s professors and librarians association has gotten involved, and in a comment to CBC News compared the ad to “selling beer.” The French translation of the voiceover notes: “You should come here because of the French language,” but “langue” also means “tongue” in French (french-kiss, ooh la la!). Obviously, students loved it: one guy told the CBC, “I thought that’s awesome. I really enjoyed it.”

Start the School Year With 500 Free Condoms

College students are busy, busy, busy buying books in preparation for the upcoming semester. But you know what they really need to stock up on? You guessed it: condoms. The Great American Condom Campaign (GACC) knows this, so they’re giving away 500 condoms to each student who signs up for “SafeSite,” a safe-sex advocacy campaign that gets students to distribute free prophylactics at their school.

Trojan donates over 1 million latex sheaths to the program annually in hopes that the participating students “educate their peers about sexual health, and organize to improve the policies that affect young people’s health and lives.” The program’s aim is to combat what they consider the two main barriers to safe-sex that young people encounter: cost and stigma. “Too few students can get affordable condoms on their campus, and the social stigma and embarrassment young people are made to feel for being responsible about their sexual health is simply ridiculous,” says an advocate of the program. Eager students at 1,000 colleges—especially those in underserved institutions like community colleges and in areas where abstinence-only education dominates—are spreading condoms and the safe-sex message across campuses everywhere.
