OnlyFans Drops Porn Ban

In another shocking move, OnlyFans recently dropped plans to ban sexually explicit photographs and videos on its platform. The porn platform made the major U-turn after intense backlash from creators. The London-based company reversed the decision hours after chief executive Tim Stokely claimed the change was prompted by “unfair” banks who were concerned about “reputational risk.”

Some Twitter users speculated that the whole thing had been a huge publicity stunt, but OnlyFans insisted that it had “suspended” the change having “secured assurances necessary to support our diverse creator community.” OnlyFans said on Twitter, “We have secured assurances necessary to support our diverse creator community and have suspended the planned October 1 policy change,” adding “OnlyFans stands for inclusion and we will continue to provide a home for all creators.” Many are skeptical of the reversal, not confident that OnlyFans won’t change their minds again for financial incentives.

Bangladesh Blocks Internet Porn

nopornInternet providers in the conservative Muslim-majority nation of Bangladesh (ha, bang) took down pornography after orders from the telecommunications regulator who has said, “this is my war against pornography.” The crackdown was launched after Bangladesh’s High Court in November asked the government to block pornography websites and publication of obscene materials in electronic forms for six months.

Most of the blocked sites are foreign, but a few local websites and social media platforms have also faced action under the crackdown. Local Facebook profiles, YouTube channels and websites that are deemed “provocative” or “go against our social norms” are being actively targeted. Thankfully, many users can still access online porn by using virtual private networks or mirror websites — but as the conservative telecommunications regulator warned, “this will be a continuous war.”

YouPorn Hits Back At Starbucks Porn Crackdown

A popular porn site isn’t taking Starbuck’s move to ban porn from its stores lying down. YouPorn has announced that it will no longer allow Starbucks products inside its offices. The site emailed its employees to inform them of the move, and a source confirmed that it’s real.

“Dear YouPorn Team, In light of the news that Starbucks has blocked customers from searching and viewing adult content within their establishments, Starbucks products will officially be banned from the YouPorn offices,” vice president of YouPorn said. Entrepreneur reported that YouPorn is really trying to hit Starbucks where it hurts most by urging its employees to buy coffee from Dunkin’ instead. It comes after Starbucks announced that it will finally launch a content-blocking tool to prevent customers from watching pornography in its stores – nearly three years after it initially vowed to do so, and long after other chains including McDonalds, Subway, and Chick-fil-A made the move.
