Americans Love Talking About Their Sex Lives

liar-liarA poll of 2,000 Americans were asked how frequently they think and talk about sex—and the results are not surprising. Results showed Americans think about sex eight times a day on average, while 65% of those felt comfortable sharing their sex lives with others. Americans said they feel the most comfortable talking with their partners about their sex life, and also with their best friends.

“Speaking openly about sex is so important because there are still a lot of people who find the subject taboo. If we’re being honest about sexual desire and sexual health—even if it’s just a casual conversation with friends—we’re helping fight that stigma, one conversation at a time” said one of the study’s researchers. It turns out, Americans are quick to share their sexual experiences with others. One in 10 will share their most memorable sex moments with someone else as soon as the other person leaves the room.

These Three Little Words Are A Big Turn-On 

dollenNew research from sex toy company EdenFantasy reveals America’s 20 biggest turn-ons. The survey of 2,000 Americans saw kisses on the neck voted as officially the biggest turn-on, followed by hearing just three little words: “I like that.” Yes, among American’s biggest turn-ons, 76 percent of respondents like their partner giving them a little verbal reassurance in bed.

Not surprisingly, 46 percent of Americans say the presence of sex toys in bed is a total turn-on. And for men, going down on women is one of the things that gets them the hottest. Americans also reported being turned on three times every day, with one in five (19 percent) saying it’s actually more times than that.

This Is Exactly How Many Minutes Per Week It’s ‘Sex O’Clock’

According to new research, the average American couple has sex for 69 minutes (seriously, 69 minutes) per week. A survey of 2,000 couples by EdenFantasys found some intriguing data about sex in relationships.

The NY Post reports, “The average couple has sex nine times per month, for 69 minutes per week. That’s 108 times a year, for 60 hours, or, one and half weeks of work.” Other interesting findings show that only 3 percent of couples are horny enough to have sex more than 30 times per month, even though 60 percent said they wished they had time to have more sex. Another 52 percent admitted to marking “sex time” on their calendars to get in some good scheduled action. In fact, Saturday night at 10pm is America’s “sex o’clock,” when 30 percent of respondents say they’ve penciled fucking into their calendars each week.

After asking people what their food of choice is for a one-night stand, the results came back conclusively for—wait for it—pizza! The study also revealed that the best activity for spending time with a fling (besides eating pizza) is good old fashioned Netflix and Chill.

After pizza, Yelp’s research found that pasta and tacos came in at second and third place. It seems that 35% of those hooking up would rather order take-out than go out for a bite with the person they just had casual sex with. Pizza does seem like the perfect no-frills meal for Americans who are looking for a post-coitus, no-strings-attached encounter!
