The new year will be coming in with a bang. A new scientific study says New Year’s Eve revelers in the US will engage in unprotected sex at a higher rate than during other holidays. Researchers at Texas Tech University based their steamy findings on the seasonal sale of morning-after pills and other types of emergency contraception.

“Firstly, New Year’s Eve celebrations are commonly associated with increased sexual behavior,” the study said, adding, “In a survey of American’s views of holidays and their sexual lives, more than 70% of respondents planned to put in extra effort to be sexual with their partner on New Year’s Eve.” Researchers said Americans are less likely to use condoms during drunken New Year’s Eve hook-ups, making panicked runs to the pharmacy for morning-after alternatives more likely. Overall, the holiday is expected to mean a 10% jump in unprotected sex based on yearly patterns.

Adam Driver and SNL cast members offered a present that’s straight off the naughty list. There’s no place like home for the holidays—especially if you want to get laid. A new survey revealed that nearly 60% of travelers plan to have “casual sex” while visiting their hometown this month, while 70% of respondents admitted to fooling around at home in past years. It turns out there’s a reason for the X in Xmas. In this season of loving and giving, doctors have warned against getting into the spirit too enthusiastically—in the bedroom, that is. An X-rated video posted online shows the staffer engaging in sex acts within what appears to be a conference room in the Hart Senate Office Building. Footage of the explicit scene initially shows the staffer having sex with an unknown man—it then pans to show off the interior of the clearly identifiable Senate hearing room. The content was shared in a private group for gay men on the political scene. Congressman Mike Collins reacted to the video on social media: “Heck of a week for the Left.
