NiteFlirt’s 2025 Year in Review

As we kick off a new year, we’re looking back at 2025. A time when desire didn’t disappear, it became more intentional.

From searches to chats to calls, the story of 2025 is clear: fantasy shifted toward experiences that felt familiar, exclusive, and chosen.

This is our first NiteFlirt Year in Review, a look at how people chose to connect, and what those patterns revealed about desire across 2025.

The Trend That Defined 2025

With everything going on in the world, one trend surfaced again and again across the platform in 2025: what we call comfort calls.

Interest in established kink dynamics like femdom, cuckold, and BDSM remained strong. Alongside them, people gravitated toward roleplay rooted in recognizable relationship energy. Girlfriend and boyfriend scenarios, husband and wife dynamics, and pregnancy fantasies all saw meaningful growth.

Comfort didn’t replace kink. It grounded it.

In a year that often felt anything but steady, fantasy in 2025 wasn’t only about escalation or intensity. It was about warmth, intimacy, and the ease of being understood. Desire still sparked, but it unfolded at its own pace, creating experiences that felt personal rather than performative.

Top Searched Terms in 2025

For the second year in a row, “Miss” held the top spot as the most searched term on NiteFlirt. Its staying power reflects a continued pull toward dynamics that feel structured, distinctive, and relational.

What stood out this year was how sharply some interests shifted. Terms like “Bodybuilder” and “Bad Girl,” both top-10 searches in 2024, dropped out of the top 50 entirely.

At the same time, “Asian” and “Pregnant” surged into the top 10 after not appearing in the top 50 the year before.

Together, these changes point to a broader pattern. Fantasy moved closer, favoring scenarios that felt lived-in, warm, and emotionally charged.

Most Viewed Categories 2025

In 2025, kink-play and domination-focused categories remained among the most viewed across Women, Men, and Trans listings. What stood out was how often those interests intersected with the comfort-driven shift of the year.

Desire, by Geography: Top Relative Searches by State 2025

Across the U.S., search behavior reflected a wide range of unique preferences shaped by local culture and rhythm. Several states had a search term in their top three that didn’t appear in the top ten anywhere else.

While tastes varied, one theme held steady. Fantasies that balanced eroticism with emotional closeness resonated across regions.

Top States for Calls-per-User 2025

Examining calls per user provided a clearer picture of engagement.

In 2025, California led the way. Arizona stood out as the only state to rank in the top five for both calls per user and chats or messages per user.

In places where engagement ran highest, interactions unfolded over time. Customers returned to familiar voices and let conversations and calls develop naturally.

Top States for Chats/Messages-per-User 2025

When it came to chats and messages per user, Texas claimed the top spot. Perhaps, everything really is bigger there, including conversations.

Only Arizona appeared in the top five for both calls and messages. While not technically a state, the District of Columbia earned a notable mention, ranking second overall.

What the Year Revealed

The patterns of 2025 tell a clear story.

People still wanted kink. They still wanted boldness and fantasy. But more than anything, they wanted experiences that felt unmistakably one-to-one, uniquely theirs, and human.

Across searches, browsing, chats, and calls, one thing held true: fantasy resonated most when it felt personal.

Thanks for making 2025 one of the most interesting years we’ve seen on NiteFlirt. We’re looking ahead to 2026 with curiosity, confidence, and anticipation.

Spicy Food Lovers More Likely To Consider Themselves Hot, Poll Finds

If you tend to reach for spicier foods, chances are you lead a spicier life. A new survey of 2,000 American adults explored whether there are any personality correlations between people who are spicy food enthusiasts. The results showed spicy food eaters are more likely to enjoy trying new things (76%), consider themselves attractive (62%) and are more content with their lives (66%) than those with milder heat preferences.

Of those who prefer hot foods, 21% consider themselves extroverted, compared to 15% of mild food eaters. Those who pack on the heat are also more likely to describe themselves as creative (54%), confident (51%) and adventurous (44%). “It makes perfect sense that those who take the heat head on are ready to take on anything and everything else. Heat fans go big on both flavor and adventure, and they’re always chasing the spice of life,” said a representative involved with the survey.

Survey Finds People Aren’t Shy About Their Turn Ons

A survey looked at 2,000 sexually active adults’ preferences and found what turns people on. Conducted by OnePoll for LELO, the survey found that people are most likely to be vocal about their turn-ons (74%), but aren’t shy about bringing up what turns them off, either (64%). From foreplay (63%) and neck kisses (41%) to being a good kisser (38%), respondents who have hooked up with a one-night stand have an easier time admitting their preferences to someone they’ll never see again (67%).

When it comes to serious relationships, three-quarters of Americans see that conversation as a milestone (75%), and a similar percentage said it’s an important discussion when committed to someone (77%). This may be why people prefer to be in a relationship for at least three months before bringing up what gets them going (53%). “It is important to nourish intimate conversations frequently and in accordance with your likes and dislikes. This is the only way to optimize the complete sexual experience and have both partners pleased and satisfied,” a LELO spokesperson said.

More Women Than Men Turned On By ‘Aggressive’ Porn, Study Finds

A new study proves more women than men enjoy watching “aggressive” porn—dispelling myths about what each gender likes when it comes to XXX. The study, published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior, found that “those who did say that they enjoyed displays of aggression, including rougher aggression, somewhat surprisingly women were a majority.” One of the study’s researchers explained, “Women were more likely to report being aroused by aggression, actively seeking aggression and wanting to see more aggression in mainstream pornography.”

After exploring 122 anonymous porn users’ preferences, the study found over half of all viewers, 53%, liked at least a little bit of aggression in porn—breaking down to 66% of women and 40% of men. Women, too, were more likely to go for “harder” expressions of aggression in porn and to seek it more than men, with themes such as bondage, discipline, dominance, submission and sadomasochism. “Very little attention has been given … to female viewers, their preferences and their desires,” a researcher said. “I noticed that much of the literature talked about aggression in mainstream pornography as a growing phenomenon (my findings show that this is not the case), claiming that this is driven by men’s desires for domination over women.”

Workers Hope Returning To Office Will Enhance Their Sex Lives, Survey Says

More than a third of single white-collar workers think returning to the office will improve their sex lives, a new survey says. “Sex can happen,” one single and ready to mingle employee of NBCUniversal wrote in response to the survey, adding “Few jobs require people after 8.” A Bank of America employee gushed that returning to work will help them get lucky because “I will actually have a reason to meet people in real life.”

According to the survey of more than 2,500 office workers, 50% of singles at Capital One, Cisco, NVIDIA and Salesforce said returning to in-person work would improve their chances for sex, while 40% at Amazon and T-Mobile said the same. Singles weren’t the only ones who felt getting back to work would get them laid: “Distance makes the heart grow fonder,” wrote an employee who’s in a relationship.

1 in 4 Delivery Drivers Admit To Hooking Up In Their Trucks, Survey Finds

It seems delivery drivers really give the full package deal. A new survey discovered that one in four delivery drivers have hooked up with someone while on the job. “Interacting inappropriately with a customer was one of the most common indiscretions reported,” the findings read, with 27% of drivers participating in “less-than-professional communications” and 25% revealing they hooked up with someone while working.

Customers are also sometimes up for more than just deliveries: “Delivery drivers experience many kinds of things while doing their duties—from strange deliveries to even stranger customers,” the survey explained. One driver said, “When I got to the customer he was super weird, in a costume with an exposed private area.” Meanwhile, 78% of couriers judged people’s orders, recalling the most bewildering ones including sexual lubricant, 20 orders of fries and a 12-foot Christmas tree in March.

Loud Sex Is Ruining Hundreds Of New Yorkers’ Lives, Report Shows

New Yorkers made more than 270 sex complaints over the past year to the non-emergency hotline. Reports ranged from backyard orgies, to the sounds of “loud ruthless sex,” to the grunts of what one caller described as a “sexual-tyrannosaurus.” One Bronx woman complained, “Listen I am a christian woman, help this girl stop having loud sex before God does.”

The calls and online submissions were from all five boroughs and involved people describing all manner of carnal depravity going on in the apartments next door, in their building’s stairways and even right outside their window. “Orgy going on in the backyard, boobs and penis’ being flashed on the street,” a Queens resident said. “There is an obese gay man splashing his Latino lovers cheeks with his man syrup,” said another. Talk about the city that never sleeps…

Women Who Make More Money Than Their Partner Are Twice As Likely To Fake Orgasms

It seems women might be “leaning in” to having successful careers—at the expense of their sex lives. A recent study found that women who make more money than their male partner are twice as likely to fake an orgasm. Women fear that men who earn less may have a “fragile sense of masculinity,” due to the long-held stereotype that men are the primary breadwinners.

As a result, researchers believe women try to alleviate the man’s financial insecurity and boost their ego by faking orgasms during sex. “Women are prioritizing what they think their partners need over their own sexual needs and satisfaction,” said the study’s lead author. “When society creates an impossible standard of masculinity to maintain, nobody wins,” they add.
