New Proposed Legislation Could Be The End Of Internet Porn

A proposed bill could be the end of internet porn, critics say. The Stopping Internet Sexual Exploitation Act (SISEA) has been filed by a member of Canada’s Parliament. SISEA is basically the exact same legislation proposed by a member of Congress earlier this year.

Both pieces of legislation are written so broadly that they could have the arguably unintended effect of shuttering sites like Pornhub and OnlyFans, and making it difficult to impossible for many sex workers to make a living. While the bill is Canadian, it has the potential of affecting sex workers and porn companies all over the world. Anyone who violates Canada’s SISEA would be subject to heavy fines and possible incarceration: for failing to obtain written consent to distribute the porn, companies can be fined up to $20,000 (Canadian dollars) for a first offense; $100,000 for the second; and $200,000 for the third.

Ex-Prison Guard Crowned Australia’s Best Porn Actress

The Land Down Under just crowned its Aussie queen—porn queen, that is. The ex-prison guard has been awarded Australia’s best porn actress at the adult industry’s equivalent of the Logie Awards. Top names in the nation’s X-rated scene gathered to award the best entertainers, filmmakers and venue owners in categories including the best escort, best pageant and best MILF.

Isabelle Deltore, named Miss Nude World twice, made her entrance into porn 11 years ago, after quitting her job as an officer at a high security jail. “I made in one night what I would make in two weeks working at the maximum security facility and I sent them an email at 4am saying, ‘See you later, bye,’” she said. “I just wanted to be good at something, and I happened to be good at this.”

Adult Entertainer Launches Website For Sex Workers

Adult entertainer Cherry Dana has created a “safe space” for sex workers to gather online. Dana says she created the website to normalize sex and the adult entertainment industry. “The website is about educating society in the procedures and boundaries in the industry and showing our side of what happens and the emotional and mental toll it can take,” she said.

The professional dancer revealed the website would be a supportive place for people to share their opinions, thoughts and any questions they had about sex and the entertainment industry. “A lot of my social media following are men and I’ve found they are interested in knowing how to use dating apps, how to book an escort and understand the boundaries that come along with that,” she said. Dana, who has nearly one million followers on Instagram alone, said she wanted to educate others about the different “genres” in the industry—porn stars, strippers, escorts—and to reduce the stigma of sex work.

Ex-Porn Star Mary Carey Running For California Governor

Former porn star Mary Carey has “big plans for California.” The busty blonde is running for California governor, with a racy, double-entendre laden campaign. “I can promise you—it won’t take long before all Californians will be satisfied with my job performance,” she said.

She has launched a campaign website that features merchandise and links to her personal site, where people can see her OnlyFans profile and pay to chat with her. “Finally a politician you want to be screwed by!” she says with a wink on her site. Carey, who starred in flicks such as “Dirty Angels: Welcome to Lust Angeles,” previously ran in the 2003 recall election—but insisted that her inspiration at that time was “a publicity gag.” As an independent, she garnered 2,536 votes in 2003.

New Bill Hopes To Use Oregon As A Testing Ground For Decriminalizing Sex Work

Oregon has decriminalized recreational cannabis, drugs, and now, potentially, sex work. Sex Workers Project is seeking to decriminalize sex work in Oregon, in hopes it will become the first state to do so statewide. Recently, state Rep. Rob Nosse filed House Bill 3088 at the request of the Sex Workers Project, which would invalidate the state’s prostitution statutes, decriminalizing those engaged in selling sex, their customers, and third parties.

Nosse introduced his bill understanding it makes Oregon a test case: “We seem to do really well at passing these libertarianesque things,” he says. Oregon’s progressive atmosphere makes it a prime candidate to test out legal sex work: HB 3088 would implement what advocates call “full decriminalization,” removing penalties for selling sex, paying for it, and facilitating it as a third party. The Sex Workers Project is gearing up for an all-out public relations campaign, which it calls DecrimwORk, including state-level efforts around “decriminalizing, destigmatizing and decarcerating sex workers in the state.”

She also described one client’s extreme kink: “I get this 72-year-old come in for electrocution on his nipples, on his dick, on his balls and one up his ass, and I control the voltage.” She continued, “I’m usually a bit wicked and I pinch the end of his b****nd at the same time, he screams! New Social Network Welcomes Sexual Content

There’s now an answer to the problem sex workers have faced on social media: Lips, a new social network that welcomes free sexual expression. Founder Annie Brown and her team want users — sex workers, erotic artists, queer people, activists, and more — to post without fear of censorship or harassment. Mainstream social networks like Facebook and Instagram have a strict no-nudity policy, while Tumblr banned adult content in 2018 after being a beacon for sex/sexuality education and porn gifs.

“If someone’s being deplatformed, or before they’re deplatformed, or they feel like social media is a mental strain on them, that they’ll know the name Lips and that they’ll be able to come to us and have this space where they can finally be themselves without fear of trolling or bias censorship,” Lips says. The progressive social network is based around consent: users choose what content they want and don’t want to see. Trolls aren’t allowed on Lips—everyone who wants to post on Lips needs to be approved, and the application process is meant to “scare off” some of the trolls.

New York Senator Introduces Bill To Decriminalize Sex Work In The State

A new bill aimed at decriminalizing the act of selling sex in New York was introduced in the state Senate. New York Senator Liz Krueger recently introduced the Sex Trade Survivors Justice & Equality Act, which was created with the help of sex workers and advocates. The bill is based on the so-called “equality” or “Nordic” model, which would repeal the crime of selling sex.

“We must empower and support people currently or formerly in the sex trade,” Krueger said in a tweet about her support of the bill. The bill aims to give and get sex workers help, instead of jail sentences, in part by preventing the “unlicensed practice of a profession” arrests of people working in illicit massage parlors when there’s evidence of exploitation. “We want to make sure that instead of criminal penalties and jail, we are providing health care, mental health care, etc.,” she added.

Porn Star Fired From Job At Taco Bell After A Customer Recognized Her

An Arkansas porn star who started working at Taco Bell to pay her bills during the pandemic claims she was fired by the fast food chain after a “God-fearing customer” complained about her. Lonna Wells started working at Taco Bell when the pandemic brought her work as an adult film actress to a halt. Wells has been nominated for two AVN awards, aka the “Oscars” of porn, and operates an OnlyFans page.

She says that she told managers about her career when she was hired and that they assured her it wouldn’t be a problem. But after less than a week on the job, she claims she was fired because a customer complained after recognizing her. “They couldn’t have even given me a heads-up, or waited until I got there to say something,” Wells says of being abruptly fired from her job.

University Of Leicester Launches Online Toolkit On Student Sex Workers

The University of Leicester wants to do more to support students who are sex workers. They’ve recently launched a student sex worker policy and toolkit to ensure staff don’t “give moral judgment.” The professor behind the initiative said on the BBC: “We’re talking about inclusive learning, we’re talking about not discriminating against somebody, not being judgemental if you find out your student’s doing sex work, or they’ve been outed or being blackmailed.”

The university will be launching its Student Sex Worker Policy and Toolkit, which has been created with the help of the Student Support Services and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion teams. “The policy and toolkit at Leicester will be used to showcase how these sensitive issues can be tackled with student well-being and inclusivity at the heart of policy and practice development,” the event website about the launch read. “The point is really that sex work is generally legal, it’s a legal activity between two consenting adults and universities are not there to give moral judgment in relation to what people do.”
