She also talks about how the role helped her to love and accept her own body. “It made me re-recognize the waste of time that non-acceptance of one’s body is,” she said. “They gave me the opportunity to put my body where my mouth is, and to allow a film to be made that I hope will be of some assistance, indeed, to young women,” she added. Ultimately, the film is about how finding pleasure can help women be free: “I hope it will give people a release and a kind of desire to appreciate themselves, to appreciate their bodies, and what their bodies can do for them and not to continually want them to be something else.”

‘Deep Throat’ Re-Released On 50th Anniversary

“Deep Throat” is coming to a theater near you—again. The legendary X-rated film will be re-released for its 50th anniversary this year. Banned, protested and subjected to numerous obscenity trials after its 1972 debut, the 4K restoration of “the Golden Age of Porn’s” magnum opus initially had a hard time booking US theaters.

It seems history repeats itself: “Fifty years later, we’re still having this conversation about free speech and censorship—the very same issues that our parents fought for,” said the woman responsible for the film’s re-release, who eventually found theaters open to showing it. She added, “‘Deep Throat’ is very vanilla, it’s wholesome, almost, and naive compared to the deviant things you can find with two clicks on an iPhone under the covers at night.” The 4K “Deep Throat” will have its world premiere at The Slipper Room on the Lower East Side with burlesque dancers, a Q&A and three shows, including a midnight screening that “harkens back to the grindhouse days of 42nd Street”—additional dates in the US and Europe will be held in the fall.

‘Pleasure’ Blurs The Line Between Business And Pleasure In Porn

Pleasure, the feature debut of Swedish writer/director Ninja Thyberg, tells the story of one woman’s quest to become “the next big porn star.” In a subversive twist on the American Dream, Bella has a single-minded aspiration toward porn stardom. She’s a natural exhibitionist who finds joy in performing sex work: “I love being in front of the camera, I love having people watching me.”

To make the feature, the filmmaker spent several years observing the industry first-hand, visiting porn sets and living for a time in a house shared by adult film performers, just as Bella does in the movie. The cast is made up of people who actually work in porn, and much of the film shows the mundane “business” aspect of adult entertainment—the production set-ups, staging, choreography of the scenes. Bella remains committed to her pursuits, which boil down to becoming a Spiegler Girl, the crème de la crème of the business who are revered for having essentially zero limits as to what they’re willing to do on camera—talent agent Mark Spiegler plays a version of himself.

Tucker Carlson Advises Men To Tan Their Balls

The trailer for Tucker Carlson’s new show “The End of Men” left Twitter titillated thanks to the gratuitous shots of hot, bare-chested men doing “manly” things like grilling meat and chopping wood. But one shot in particular was a cut above the rest: a buck-ass naked man who appears to be tanning his balls. The episode, which recently aired, investigated the “total collapse” of testosterone levels in men in recent years.

In a heavily circulated clip of the episode, a fitness trainer says men should consider “bromeopathic therapy”—the use of infrared light on the testicles—as a radical counter for decreasing levels of testosterone. “Half the viewers right now are like,‘What?! Testicle tanning, that’s crazy!’” Carlson goes on to acknowledge, “but my view is: Okay, testosterone levels have crashed and nobody says anything about it, that’s crazy, so why is it crazy to seek solutions?” Naturally, Twitter had some thoughts about “testicle tanning,” not to mention the excessive amount of homoerotic imagery in a man’s show who’s opposed to saying “gay”: “I am sitting here next to my gay husband living my gay life reading a gay novel as research for my new gay book…and yet I am not and will never be as gay as whatever is haunting Tucker Carlson’s fantasies,” one person tweeted.
